That is a good buck. My 17 year old son did the same thing yesterday. Walked a little way from the truck to getting a better look at some deer that had dropped below him. While he is looking for them he hears them right below him and they walk past him about 20 yards. He was hunting by himself just outside of town. Lesson learned for him!!

When you don't have a team that you can just brag about because they are so good I guess putting down a better team makes you feel better about your self!! As a Wildcat fan I am happy to help you out in that regard!! Perhaps next year ASU will play a full schedule of college teams and maybe have an opportunity to play in a bowl game!

The rain definately helps you if you are stalking game. It will keep the noise down, makes it harder for them to hear and will also keep your scent down. Of course it helps if you have good clothes that will keep you dry and isn't noisy.

Congrats Robert, that is a great buck. I do find it hard to believe that you spent too much time debating shooting this buck. It is a good thing you had Garrett with you to pull your head out!!

I had the same thing happen many years ago. Two of my dogs ran off chasing some critter. I looked for them, called for them, etc... with no luck and then wnet home. next evening I drive out to look for them again and they are sitting under a tree where the truck was parked. I hope you find your dog!!

I have used bears feet. They work well but I have a couple of pieces of tanned elk hide left over from a mount that I am thinking of making a pair with. I think that would work well!
