Have a few question for you guys with more experience, got drawn for elk after 6 years in unit 4B late bull hunt, never hunted or know the unit , i'm planning on scouting and getting to know the unit, already bought one of those huntmaps and don't want to use an outfitter like to do it myself,want to get to know roads trails and every thing also i'll try everything to make my hunt easier when is opening day , now the questions are: 1. should i scout the pine trees in the higher elevation or should i go a little lower in elevation to the junipers? are there elk that live all year around in the junipers? or should i wait and scout later in the year? should i camp or get a hotel or motel around the area? last year it was in the 10's for the hunt. i'm planning on calling the wildlife manager for the unit, what questions should i ask besides this questions? in late november if already snow do you hunt water? tthank you and looking forward for some advice.

Have a question about the binoculars,there are Swaros SLC 15x56, this morning first thing when i started glassing the part where you look from got condensation, was it because my eyes where to close to the lenses? or maybe i should have the check? it was frustrating because i glass for a bit the had to get off for a few minutes, what do you guys do when is very cold? could be the body heat? hello : i was drawn for unit 22 october whitetail hunt i have scouted for 3 weekends and haven't seen much, just a few does and some sign, hiked a few miles and seen sign but old,very few fresh, the area i looked is west of payson north of the doll baby ranch on the border with the wilderness, am i looking in the wrong area?, glassed before sun up and sun down, and have seen much movement, normally i like to stick to an area and get it to know well.maybe because is hot don't see much movement?, but since is early in the season, maybe can scout a different area. do you thing i'm in the wrong area? let me know what you all think. Thank you everybody, i agree with Desert Bull Mt Ord is crazy with people, i've seen it on opening wekkend there is motorhomes and trailers parked on the rd, i'm trying to get away from people, i'll stick to the area i'm scouting for a few more times and then if not succesful in the middle of september i'll change plans. thank you for your help, you know how frustrating it is when hike in and scout and don't see much and you start wondering if you are in the wrong spot.
