Nevada Sage Grouse
Mr. Jonathan replied to Chukar Plucker's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Man that looks great. My buddies went out north of Reno and did really well. I was bummed I couldn't be up there for it. Nice looking dogs too! -
I traveled to Reno over the Labor Day weekend and was able to get out for a day of dove hunting with my friends. We ended up with 24 between the three of us, which, considering our shooting was deplorable, wasn't too bad for a day of flushing dove. Here is a writeup with some more photos: Nevada Dove Hunt

That's what I thought you meant by dropping a toad! I was wondering what the heck you meant when you said you were gonna gut it! I was just thinking how gross that is!

My "Do It Yourself" Bear Hunt.....
Mr. Jonathan replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Wow, that is too cool! I was hoping so bad to have a similar situation- now I'm just flat out determined to do it, maybe next year? That bear is really beautiful- and the more I look at the pictures of bears it is almost like they are a kinda spiritual animal... if that makes any sense at all! Awesome hunt and great write up! I'd sure like to know how a guy can learn to shoot that far too! I've got a lot to learn still! Fantastic hunt! -
Very nice bear- and beautiful color. I can't wait to get one myself!
-
What a beautiful animal. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Huge Lesson Learned Yesterday...
Mr. Jonathan replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
I am SO jealous! Sounds identical to my experience I just didn't get to whack a bear I made a little write up about so I'd feel better: The Bears Win Again -
looks like a hoof in her mouth in that second picture.

I've got a couple sets of ivory that i'd like to get mounted in some jewelry. Anyone know of place that does that in AZ, preferably close to the valley?
-
Stick him!

All over the 24A area south of the pinals/north of dripping spring mountains the pears are ripe as can be! Haven't been near Rye in a while, but I'm sure they'll be ripe now too.

we ate the backstraps off of my mountain lion, and it was alright, but awfully tough for backstrap meat i thought. I'd be willing to try it again though. As far as coyotes, I just haven't killed one that looked edible upon further inspection. I'd be up for trying it though. I suppose I'd try a bobcat if I ever get a chance to.

Nice tag is right! My friends little brother drew the Nelson PIW tag last year. Shot a little one though, 169 and change i think. Let's hear about some chukar hunting already!

Unit 23 Roads
Mr. Jonathan replied to Mr. Jonathan's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Yeah its a good thing there's no coues deer in that area or else I'd be tempted to try that road again! -
Has anyone ever been to Workman Creek Falls before? If so, how close can you get a vehicle to it? I don't want to take the Cherry Creek road into the canyons because it was way too rough last time. Thanks!

Do you recognize this buck?
Mr. Jonathan replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico

Unit 23 Roads
Mr. Jonathan replied to Mr. Jonathan's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Already did it once this year about 8 weeks ago! It was scary to say the least... high centered on a tree that laid across the road and tilted on two tires in one of the wash outs north of Pueblo canyon. What can i say, toyota came through! She's got some genuine AZ racing stripes though... But now you know why i'm looking for another way in! -
Beautiful! Great goat and nice shooting. Are you gonna eat the oysters? I mean, it is your first and all
-
I think it looks quite good! Especially the velvet- which usually suffers the most on summer mounts. Nice buck!

that is a neat mount, thanks for sharing!

the one that continues to deliver broadhead tipped arrows to sets of lungs and hearts... it just doesn't matter as much as the capability of the archer using it does.

I want one! Someday... Very nice buck, great mount.
