Finally had a chance to compare the two scopes together this evening. They are very close I had to go back and forth several times at the lowest magnification I couldn't see any noticeable difference in light gathering ability finally at about 10 power and up the vortex was just a touch brighter. Probably because of the larger objective. In any case they are so close its hard to tell which is better in low light conditions.

The Glass is very close between the two. It is hard to tell which is better in the middle of the day. For edge to edge clarity I think the Leupold is just a touch clearer on the extreme outside edge. I will compare the 2 side by side this evening and see which is better in low light conditions.

Lyman Great plains 54 caliber muzzleloader. It is in great shape my brother had it in his safe. He bought it new and doesn't think he ever shot it. The grain on the stock looks very nice. It is left handed, but Im sure a right handed person wouldn't have a problem shooting right handed.

Yep They are hard to beat I have never owned a detector that hasn't paid for itself and then some. They are lots of fun and if you have kids around you don't even have to dig they are right there ready to dig and waiting for the next target. Thanks for kind words.
