GOOD LORD!!!! That scared the heck out of me. Good one!

WOW, I just checked in and see I've got a lot to respond to. Glad everyone liked the pics, I'm off for another hot wknd of hunting bears then I've got a hunter for the remainder of the archery deer hunt. Maybe he'll tag out quick so I can get to some stand time myself. I've got another roll of film to develop too, can't wait to see what's on it.

Here's the other one. This one scores around 20 1/4" green. He was older than the hills I think, his teeth were mostly gone and what was there was busted and nasty. His eyes were getting that white cloudy look to them. With that big hump on his back he looked like a grizzly walking across the slopes. Enjoy

We got two really nice boars in 27 this weekend. Not much bear activity at all, we just persisted thru that aweful heat and got lucky. Both bears we got were in the pears. Another hunter in camp missed shots at 2 different chip shots at bears and went home empty handed. We'll be out again over the weekend and then I'll be able to log some serious hours in my treestand for some bucks.

Ya I think it could be. I'd like to see the sheds a little better but I'm just guessing from all the mass and stuff that it just might be. Ask ol' Redbeard and see what he thinks. Bowhunter4life, Andy and his bud took all those pics, I wish they were mine.

Bummer for you Mike they are sick! Freakin awesome pics Andy. That fat 3x4 is probably your ice cream scoop buck if you ask me. But I haven't held the sheds in my hand yet though. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that's my kind of thinking!!!!!!!

I found a pretty decent set today while I was bear scouting/shed hunting today. I'd guess them to be in the 92-93" range. I found the first one and made a big circle looking around and finally went back to where I'd found the first one. I then headed to a small saddle about 40 yards away and I hadn't gotten but 15 yards when I spotted a couple tips sticking thru the grass. The match was 20 yards away. Boy that was lucky! Most times I never get too motivated to look for a match because I rarely find them but I guess this set was meant to stay together. I sent the pics to Amanda for her to post soon. Enjoy them.

Nope that's not him, you'll see what I mean when Amanda posts the pics. The G1s go strait up and the fronts are about 3" long and everything is very symetrical, he's just got short eyeguards... if it's him. -
I think I may have just got 4 pics of this deer alive at my salt lick. Amanda will hopefully be posting the pics soon in the trail camera forum with my others.

Well I just got some more film back from the same camera and it seems as if I've got at least 6 different bucks hitting my salt! I'm so excited I can't handle it. I'm gonna have to wait for 2 more weeks before I can even start hunting too. Oh that hurts!! I'm heading out to bear hunt but I'll see if Amanda can post the pics under this same topic. The match set of sheds I found a week and a half ago might be off one of the bucks. He looks extremely similar but he just doesn't have the 3" eyeguards that the sheds do, they're 2" at the most now if it's the same buck. I'll be back on Tuesday and I'll see what's up then. -
whats the funniest thing thats happened
GRONG replied to ultramag's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
dang those are funny! What's up with people crapping in their overalls/coveralls? Next time I wear some I'm definitely gonna pay more attn whenever the urge to release comes. One funny story (maybe 2 actually) I have is when my Dad and I hiked to the top of this really steep ridge early in the morning to glass for bears. Both of us were sweating hard and quite thirsty as we tried to set up our tripods. He's about 10 yards from me behind some brush when I hear what sounds like a cat coughing up a hairball, HUUUAAAAGGHH HUUUAAAAGGHH!! Obviously we're supposed to be quite you know but he kept making those dang noises. I finally walked over to him and he's dry heaving after just having a sip of water. Ever since I can remember Dad can't drink water first thing in the morning or he gets sick. Don't ask me why. It was so funny watching a full grown man gagging on a sip of water.... sissy! We both got a big laugh over it. Didn't see any bears either. About 20 years ago Dad and I were coming off of a really steep mesa, headed back to the truck after Coues hunting all day. Well Dad slips on a slab of sandstone and lands square on his tailbone. He sat there a second or two just looking ahead and finally leaned over and ralphed up a whole bag of pre-chewed M&M's he'd just eaten at the top 20 minutes earlier. I laughed so hard! Then a few minutes later I took a header down the slope and put a big dent in the scope. Good times!!! -

Bowhunter4life, You know it! Trophyhntr, I put that lick there just as a place to stop there deer as they were walking by. I found it a couple years ago, there was scrapes and this good trail going thru so I decided to put the lick there then. It's about 7 yards from my stand to the salt and I'll be about 20' up above them. I'm glad you all liked the pics so much. I tell ya, I almost got buck fever when I got the first look at my pictures! I checked my trail cam yesterday and it had only taken 6 pics in a week so that bummed me out but maybe the 6 are of the bad boys. If I get some more good ones I'll let you know. I love these trail cams!!! -
