    Damn good Carp shed

dang!!!!!!! Now that's a biggin!!! Freakin awesome find Kevin! I'd say that shed is easily 5yrs old, probably closer to 7 or 8 yrs old. What a whopper!!! Looks like an old 6a horn I bought many years ago, only yours is tad bigger. Killer find man thanks for sharing.
  3. And ol Hap doing what he does best.....
  4. Well Dad text me yesterday and said he'd found the match to the giant shed he found on Tuesday. It was about a third of a mile away from the other one. Nice to see these two dudes together!
  5. Loose lips sink ships........ That what you're sayin Doggystyle?
  6. Ok, just measured the newly found side at 48 2/8", bigger than I thought. 50 + 48 2/8= 98 2/8" + 14" inside for a gross of approx 112 2/8". NICE!!
  7. Hey ding-dong Greybeard, didn't you happen to see this topic already with the score of the first found shed? http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...?showtopic=7094 I haven't measured the newly found one but I'd say around 46-48". Guessing a 14" inside spd he'd go approx 110" gross as a NT 2pt.
  8. Took Isaac out for just an hour or so this afternoon and we managed to scoop up a wt shed about 30 yards off the road while we were almost back to the quad. It took him about 30 seconds to spot it after I told him there was whitetail antler somewhere close. A little fun was had along the way too......
  9. Its all about the GRONG orange baby!!!!!
  10. Dad found this big ol horn yesterday. Measures 50" NT. That big inline is just over 8" long!! It's this year's drop too.

    EZ Ranch Cordes Junction, Az

The hogs looked like ones you'd see at an FHA convention, then there were ones that were black and odd looking. I'm guessing those were the Russian ones but I'm not a connessieur of piggin. Ya that fence was no joke either!! That is a big dude!!! Not sure if or how they would escape that bad-boy.

The captive environment puts every one of the animals with in proximity, thus making for easy transfer of diseases so every one is in fected. This is why CWD has spread so quickly in some states where deer congregate around specific feed areas. There is NO reliable test that can confirm CWD in LIVE animals. The only test currently available is done on the brain tissue or lymph nodes of DEAD ungulates. -TONY I have driven through the ranch just to see the stags etc and the first thing you see when you enter the gates is about 50 "cows", I can't remember the female name for the red stags, it's an odd one for sure if anyone knows it. Anyway, Tony your comment about congregating around a feeding area really hit home. It looked like a cess pool of pee, poo and a mtn of feed that they all stand around most of the time. It was a stinky mess. But maybe it's ok to have them like that I don't know, as an outsider not familiar with penned animals, it sure looked gross. As for the stag bulls there was a dozen or more spread out on the south face of a big hill on the north side of the ranch. Looks to have obliterated every cactus, mesquite and juniper w/in reach of their antlers on nearly every sq inch of the big hill they were on. They looked as wild as an animal can look too. It's not like you could walk up to the fence and expect them to be w/in mere feet waiting for a handout, they definitely kept their distance of a couple hundred yards. It sure was neat seeing them and their antlers though. I went in there during their rut and to hear them things "roar" was a TRIP! Quite an odd thing to see in AZ that's for sure. Saw a couple dozen hogs running around in there too as well as the buffalo. I could also see a few sheds laying around on the slope too. Damned near jumped the fence to round a few up but those stags didn't look like they would welcome that though. Doubt the owner woulda liked that either, probably woulda escorted my tail right the crap out of there if I had. But dang I hated to see those horns just laying out there. He did have a pile back at the barn for me to fondle so that was enough to get my fix. Anyway, it was an odd thing to see and it's far from a zoo. I guess they get quite a few people each year out there shooting a few of the stags and buffalo. If you just wanted some buffalo meat I think it's probably a good deal on the price per lb but then again I think he said you pay for the whole animal at that price, not just the quartered and hanging meat. They hang the whole dude up and you buy it all. Might be easier than hunting Raymond Ranch. Thats my take on the whole operation though.

    Grong's Bull

Oh, Shortpants, I never saw the bull before other than the day prior when he had over 20 cows. A STUPID moronic lamebrained POS guy chased them in his truck then jumped out and started blowing his elk call at them and chased them clear the F out of the country! I WAS PO'D to say the least and stomped over and exchanged a few words with the guy. He was so completely stupid that he referred to the elk as "bucks". He also said to bad they're not in season right now. I responded then why the F do you think I'm carrying my bow you dillhole!?!?!?!?! Oh man I was ticked!! He didn't even have a tag he was just being an butt-jack. Ruined my morning hunt but luckily the bull showed up about a mile away the next morning and that's when I stalked him up in a draw. I got lucky and saw them before they saw me. The two cows he had walked past me at maybe 10 yards and he slowly followed. He went behind a tree and that's when I stood and drew at the same time. He heard me the arrow go across the drop-away rest and looked my way, shoulder hid behind the tree still of course. He only looked at me for about 3-5 seconds and stepped out, that's when I hammered him. The hit was high cause I thought he was around 20 yards out but he was only 12-13 yards. Still, I ended up punching thru his spleen and he was suckin wind and drowning in his own blood in a matter of about 10 seconds. He ran over the ridgetop and piled up about 20 seconds or so later. So there you have it, nothing terribly exciting like I called the bull in and he came in screaming and tearing up the trees. That woulda been cool but the first week of the hunt was fairly rutless as most hunters can tell you. I never had trail cameras up either, to busy pumpin the good stuff out of porta-jons to scout. Wish I could've more but I'm WAY happy with my bull and have no regrets.
