That's just one of those canyons that is just way to rugged and I wouldn't recommend anyone going there. Tons of snakes, year round too! Last time I was out there for just a little half-day look-around, I think I counted somewhere around 48 BIG rattlesnakes! Definitely not worth the trip.......

I sure hope you sent that story to all the huntin mags....... Congrats!!!

I got this film developed last week and my jaw dropped when I saw these two nice bucks, especially the 2x4 buck! Oh man am I jonesing to get in my stand during the archery hunt. I've got my stand already in the middle pine tree. It might be a 10 yard shot to the salt lick. I sure hope they come by the stand while I'm sitting there. Knowing these two bucks are there will make the wait a little easier to handle while logging all those hours in stand. Enjoy the pics. I can't believe this buck came in for a real close look at the camera! His eyeguards have got to be 5". -
Well Jim, you know they sell archery deer tags over the counter.......

Pretty unbelievable what kind of awesome stuff can grow on a buck's head. Here's for all to enjoy. Here is the brand new shed from '08 with one of the buck's sheds from '06. These are one from the past 3 yrs in a row, sorry no matches yet...... Left antler scores in the lower 60's, middle one is around 66" and the drop-tine is broken clean off. The brown side scores around 75".

Not sure how I missed this enormous topic but I'm almost mad at myself for spending an hour reading it all........ Ok that's just downright HILARIOUS!!! Buying more radios cause they had more guys coming to help? WTS is that about?!?!?! When I glassed the bull up we (Stan and I) called Travis and after they had blown the stalk they were working on that morning they hiked into where we were at and we planned the stalk from there. SO, just for the record, there wasn't an "army of guides" out there. Quite the contrary in fact. It was Stan, me, the hunter, Travis and the guy videoing the hunt were the only people there. John McC wasn't even there!! If that's an "army" then I guess that goes along with your off the wall ethics. Who is to say that just cause the "powers that be" in the B&C club have it all together and only their personal choice of ethics is the way to go? Why not ban any and all communication all together when the stalk starts? Radios, cell phones, hand signals, etc etc. Next thing they'll say is that there shouldn't be any sort of wind tester apparati on your bow or whatever cause it's unethical to judge the wind. Give me a break. If it's not against the laws that the G&F have set then who gives a crap? I've used radios for years guiding people into game, some were successful and some weren't. Andy and I chose the ol hand signal route last January and it worked out like a charm on my coues hunt. Had we used radios I could've cared less. Like what was posted a few pages back, I don't look at record books to see whose name is listed as the killer, I look for the amount of points on each antler, gross score etc. I like pictures!! I haven't bought a record book in years cause you only get a few pics and 1000s of scores. I can look in the hunting magazines that come out monthly for all my antler joneses w/o going to the record books. TAM, you rule!! I'm going to bed, my head hurts after reading all this...........

Man I don't have a clue what they're from but like I said above I got him in 33 too so maybe there's something to that? My taxi said he's seen it on a few bucks but not terribly often. Here's how my buck's was, it was only on one side.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! You crack me up BD, who are you btw? I probably know you but not by your cw.com handle. I've pretty much given up on that spot ever since I got my stand and trail cam stolen. Since then it just feels kinda unsafe to leave my stuff there and with the constant talk of stolen cameras I really just kinda lost it. I gotta find a new spot and see what happens I guess. One thing I do know is that there are NO secrets in the woods no matter how "lonely" you think your spot may be. There's people all over the woods constantly! I'm just glad they keep walking past all the wt horns. HA! -
Amen brother, I say burn the plants and shoot the people growing it. I don't want this crap around my children as they grow up. Why in the heck would you want to legalize something that makes you more stupid?? Stupid liberals! I like you guys more and more each day

Wow....... Unreal Kevin

Ya that's way cool. Severaly years ago Dad and I were trailing a small lion across Mud Tank Flats here in 6a and I found one. Pretty nice one too but forgot it in the back of the truck and one of the hounds ate it before I remembered to get it out of there. HAHAHAHAHA!!

Man that deer is a stud! The deer I shot this past january in 33 had those same "bleached" wet spots under his eyes like your buck. Odd........
-
Dude your deer is one of the coolest deer that's been on this site in a while!! SERIOUSLY!! I love that extra beam and the drop off of it is even better!! Congrats! Reminds me a lot of this shed......

Just freakin awesome! Thanks for sharing......

No, the NASHC does not require you to be the finder, in fact they don't even ask that anymore. 10 years ago they wanted to know who found and who owned but now it's just who the owner is. To be honest with you the NASHC has made some promises over the past few years and nothing has come of it as far as I can tell. Now, don't think that I think that means they're liars. All those guys have their own lives and jobs to do first and I'm sure the record book is just secondary to them. But when they say scoring period for such and such is over for the next recording period it would seem that a book should follow sometime after. Wrong. Last I heard, about 2 yrs ago, was that they were going to place the 3rd and 4th scoring period all together in the same 3rd edition record book. Haven't heard a word about it though. Best you could do is call Tom Miller and ask him yourself I guess.

ANy problems with them opening up in your quiver or in flight? I just barely push the tips into the foam and it seems to work ok. I check them for looseness from time to time but for the most part I haven't had any probs. I love them things! Thank you to CPugsie for making them and supplying a few to me!
