Oh man looks like I missed OUT! Tried making it but ended up having to go to Phx to get a new truck cause my old beater work truck is on it's last legs. I showed up later Sunday morning and everyone was gone... Ended up taking my family to Mormon Lk Lodge for some grub so it wasn't a total loss. Hopefully next year I'll make it....

I talked with Amanda a little today thru text and thought maybe it'd be a good chance for some of you guys/gals to get some of your better coues sheds scored to be entered into the North American Shed Hunting Club's record book. The Coues section lacks some new luster so of all you folks that are coming to camp out bring your biggins. What makes it nice is that if the shed(s) are in the top 10 they will need to be panel measured by 2 measurers. Normally this is tough to do since Amanda and I live so far apart. Actually this goes for any big elk or mule deer sheds too. I'll try to run off several copies of score sheets for any interested. Please keep in mind that if you're interested in having them entered into the book it's $7.50 each I believe. Found a nice bull 2 saturdays ago and went out this past Saturday to see if he'd dropped yet. Glassed a lot of bulls up and a couple slick heads so I snuck above the elk to get around them and do some glassing for the sheds and ended up walking right up on them ontop the ridge!!! Couldn't believe it!!! Probably the best brown set I've ever found at 360".

Earliest I have personally ever found a brown coues shed was March 8th and it shocked the bijankus out of me. It was a good shed too.

That's what happens when a bull makes his way past hunters year after year after year and makes it way past his prime into old age...... Pretty awesome find! Gary Iles in Payson found a dead bull with antlers just like those, good stuff.

Yup that's ol Hap himself. The Michael Jordan of all hound dogs, no kidding! Dad told me right after they caught it that the lion snagged ol Hap and they got to brawlin!!! Hap managed to escape w/o getting to tore up and wanted even more to kill the lion with his own jaws. After Dad let him go (no hunter) Dad swore that Hap was mad at him for not killing the lion himself. LOL!!! To bad they can't clone that dog......

I was out there from about 8:30 am till 7 that evening. I'm usually out there from daylight to dark.

I shoot the Rage's and I love them. One shot at 13 yards absolutely RUINED the big bull I shot 2 yrs ago. He went just over 175 yards and died REAL fast. Talk about BLOOD! Sweet mother! Looked like you poured it out of a 5 gallon bucket. Killed my 100" coues buck Jan '08 with one too, he went just over 100 yards. I'll keep usin them no matter what the nay sayers say......

Wish I coulda been with Gail today when he found this shed to see the look on his face. His expression makes it look like he'd just found a carp horn but he's actually very excited about it. It's the best one he's ever found at 51 2/8". That G2 is 10 5/8"!! Congrats man that thing is a BEAUTY!!!

I found the rack last March and I'm guessing it laid there for 1.5 years. Still is very solid antler but no color and very minimal cracking. Gail's shed is chalked a fair amount with deep cracks in it and I would guess it at the minimum its 2-3 years older than the rack you son-of-a-buck.

Yo Gino, you're supposed to actually read what I read in the very first sentence of my first post..... I wasn't there bro otherwise I woulda given Gail that special tickle to lighten him up. WHAT!?!?! Anyway, Gail showed me the antler this morning and instantly it hit me that it's off the giant non-typ buck I found last year!!! biggin Soon as I get pic of them together I'll share them with all y'all. Freakin awesome that I found the buck and he picked up a shed! Oh and did I mention that he found the shed around 4 miles away? Looks like we've got some new country to cover for the match and possibly others off of that buck....
