    Camo on a rifle hunt?

I do, I wear predator camo or ASAT I think it works great. I dont see any downside to wearing camo while rifle hunting I hunt well off any roads and try to get as far back in as I can and think that it can only help.

    Peep Sight Trouble

Sounds like its time for a tubless, we install the vast majority of peeps tubeless and its definitly the way to go after your strings stretch you will not need to worry about it twisting as long as it is tied in properly you will want to make sure that it is tied in as the peep could come out upon firing and I have heard stories of the peep coming out hitting the riser and boucing back into the shooter which could be quite dangerous espeically around the eyes.

    18b Javelina

My 2010 Javelina hunt begun on friday and I was able ot harvest saturday. This year I was drawn in a unit I had not hunted before but put in with a buddy from school, we did no first hand scouting but got info from a realitive of his who had. Friday morning we got up nice and early and headed out, 2 miles into a canyon we glassed wednesday and thursday we spotted a heard of about 25 pigs, 300 yards away on a ridge but none of them offered a good shot oppertunity. We didntget on any more pigs for the rest of friday. On saturday again we were in the same canyon well before first light and were hoping to glass some javelinas up before they got out of their beds, untill we started getting hammered with rain. We took shelter under a rocky outcropping and continued glassing for a while untill the rain got fairly miserable, so we headed back to camp for breakfast. Later that afternoon the rain slowed to a drizzle so we got back out there, glassed up the pigs across a dirt road about 950 yards away so we hiked out to my jeep where we tried to get right behind them, we got out n the road jumped out, after trailing them a mile and a half or so we finally were able to get a shot, I took the largest javelina in the herd at 80 yards clean heart shot, was a tough hunt with a lot of work but it paid off.

    Some recent coyotes

It is pretty amazing, Although it's very dangerous. First off I'll list the good. probably 90% of the coyotes I killed this year (around 20) were killed off the ladder. You would be amazed at how much better your field of view is! I see quite a few more coyotes from my ladder than I do in a chair or on the ground. Now for the drawbacks. 1. ITS DANGEROUS. I've fallen off my ladder 2 times. nothing serious (twisted ankle on one and just banged my elbow on the other). But my friend who I have hunted alot with fell of his ladder and broke ALL the metacarpuls (spelling?) in his hand. 2. Its not nearly as stable. I've got my ladder set up so I can shoot off it with a shooting stick. (I can post pics if people would like) but its still not nearly as stable as a chair or the ground. 3. You need to hunt almost completly FLAT land off it. with soft dirt. big rocks or a slope will render it useless. 4. your shooting angle is GREATLY reduced. I shoot about 90 degrees supported and another 30 un supported on my ladder. Much smaller than the angles I get when on the ground. 5. Movement is greatly intensified. Sitting 6 feet in the air makes you much more noticable. 6. It's simi-expensive to build especially if you dont end up liking it. ( I built mine for just over 100$) but built a carrier for my jeep for another 100$ (will attach a pic) 7. its a pain in the butt to carry out to stands.... but not nearly as much of a pain as bringing it back with a dead yote. I would reccomend it if your in shape, have strong bones, good balance and can sit completly still... it takes some getting used to but I dont regret building mine AT ALL. I would do it again. Unfortunatly I cracked my skull on tuesday (not hunting or ladder related) so I'm going to stay off the ladder for at least a few weeks untill it bonds. Heres my ladder with a fresh coat of paint Heres a couple pics of the ladder carrier I rigged for my jeep. Makes it pretty handy getting out to stands And if anyone has any questions feel free to ask!
  23. Just wodnering what every one drives to get to there hunting area or offroads in. Heres my jeep, the only thing that filters some of my money away from guns/ hunting it sits on a 4" lift with 33x12.5 " Bfg mud-terrains and I put a locker in my front axle
