I think what you are seeing there is an aspen branch from the tree he just wrecked!!! You can see the tree shaking in the shot with the two circles marking the lead cow and the shaking tree. It was dangling from his right antler down in front of his chest. Is that what you are seeing?

Updates from the Show low area: we have heard a handful of bugles the last couple days early in the morning but they seem to shut up around 8am. Seeing bulls with cows, bulls with bulls, and cows alone. 0-10 on the rut scale, if 0 is bulls mounting other bulls and 10 is non-stop bugle fest from dawn to dusk, I think we are about a 2.5... Opening morning we had a couple of bulls including the one below in a canyon that must have had a hot cow in it. They were going nuts! But it lasted for about an hour or two and then shut off. We had them at about 100 yards before bumping them. IMG_5478.MOV

Thank you for the feedback guys!!! I’m out on an elk hunt this weekend and hoping to put a video together here in the next week of some action. No bulls on the ground yet but we have a couple more days so we will see what happens. @bbendallaz youtube: Bryson Bendall AZ Outdoors -
We recently moved to the Gila Valley and I started a new job so things have been a little crazy lately but I made it out the other day for a scouting trip. It was meant to be a 2 day trip but a nice monsoon decided to roll in and I cut it short. I managed to find a nice one though! I’m thinking he will put on a few more inches before going hard horned. He may be a buck I saw last year, but hard to say. What are your guesses on what he will end up at score wise? Not that it matters all that much but I suck at scoring them and would love to hear what y’all think. And I hope you can laugh at the title a little... not sure he really is a “giant” but he is a dandy. @bbendallaz

I was super lucky and blessed to take a nice Javelina last week! Things went from nada to full throttle on Monday when I finally hiked into a nice sized group and the ol’ Browning A-Bolt in 7mm-08 did a number on her at about 70 yards. I was able to capture a lot of the story, scouting, and action on camera and hope you guys And gals enjoy it!!! There is also A LOT of coues action. I did all the butchering and processing myself and just tried a round of Javi tacos last week and was PLEASANTLY Suprised! Going to try some more recipes that you guys posted on here and I will keep you posted.

We were unbelievably blessed to harvest 3 beautiful Coues bucks this last week.We got quite a bit of footage of the 4 days we hunted to tell the story. We had our share of ups and downs with some bad weather and missed shots but gratefully filled our freezers. I think we learned from our mistakes and experience and will be better hunters because of it. Enjoy the videos! This last month I have tried to introduce my kids to Coyote calling. Here is a link to my previous post... It has been everything I hoped it would!!! The kids are seeing the action and won’t stop asking to go again. Well, we got after it again. Day 3, I took out Josie and her friend. We called a couple in and got a shot but no Coyotes were harmed in the making of this video. Day 4: I got my oldest boy out again and his cousin and my brother in law. We got into them again and brought home a pair! These kids are HOOKED!!! Bryson

Bryson Bendall posted a topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Hello Everyone! Last week, I introduced my 3 year old and 4 year old to coyote calling on a two day hunt in AZ. First: Here are the links to the videos. I hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/RTjgTweGK9I https://youtu.be/fREXpKq9iAs Day 1, my son and I had success on stand 1, calling in 2 and killing one. Called in 2 more on stand 2 but I missed ... just too dang excited Day 2: My daughter and I saw nothing on stand 1. However, called in 2 on stand 2 and made a couple of lucky running shots! First double and such a special experience! Gun: 7mm08 Browning A- bolt Medallion with Nikon Fx1000 scope Call: Tony Tebbe Hand call Learned that calling, filming, shooting, especially with young kids is HARD. Also, gotta do better at putting the ears on my kids BEFORE the shooting. Next time I will take out someone else that can shoot and I’ll video! -

Here is the final video, hope you guys enjoy! Day 3/4: -
Just wanted to share my 16 year old sister's success with ya'll. Put together this video to remember the hunt. There is a long boring dialogue at the beginning so you might want to skip to about 5:30. Forgive my amateur video skills. Headed out tomorrow with a tag in my pocket so we will see what happens! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_kaq-ZtYys - Bryson

With Edge's permission just wanted to thicken the plot a little for his buck. On opening morning me and my hunting crew set up right in the bowl that is pictured. We didn't see much and started to move to spot number 2 when we spooked this buck and a couple of his cronies. Long story short, they crested over the farthest ridge shown in the picture and in the process of getting closer, we spooked them again (gonna need to work on that) and I took two quick running shots on this exact buck and a final shot at approximately 550 yards that failed to meet their marks (and that too). He trotted off and i was sure he would be traumatized and never come back but i was obviously wrong! Edge and his crew who we unfortunately didn't have the chance of running into while we were out there, were obviously hunting the same spot days later. Goes to show those deer will stay in their stomping grounds even after getting shot at. Congrats Edge on sealing the deal! I can relate with you on those canyons and especially that canyon he ran into, it is NASTY. My buddy and I were just saying that we are sick of that spot because of the nasty terain. But it holds some fine deer.

Let me preface this by saying that I would be the first to agree that the score of a deer, and to be honest, the fact that you harvest a deer is not the only reason I hunt... There is so much more that I love about hunting then just antler... But, I would be deceiving you if I didn't say that antlers aren't part of the fun.. That being said...I knew it would be a busy fall/winter for me so I opted to buy a bonus point rather than put in for deer this year. I have been out 3 days on three different hunts... I know... pitiful, but I am grateful for those few days. So... in a way I have been living vicariously through each of your posts. It has been a great year so far with some beautiful deer taken and I can't help but notice that some of you dedicated hunters take trophy deer every year. I have been hunting coues deer for about 14 years and I have seen a few nice bucks while out and about... lets say 7-10 bucks that would score around 100 inches. However, I have never laid eyes on anything like some of the bucks you regularly harvest. So... what does it take? How many hours do you spend in the field a year? How far do you hike from the roads? 1 mile...2, 3? Do you hike in in the morning and hike out in the evening or do you typically pack in and stay a few days? Do you go to the same spot every year and harvest nice deer (maybe the same square mile or two for example) or do you hunt different units or different areas in the same unit? Do you scout to find a specific buck, and then hunt them specifically? Do you use trail cameras? When you are out there hunting, are the bigger bucks typically bedded down when you find them? Are thy in the thickest cover? When you are at work and supposed to be working but instead you are cruising around on google earth to find monster buck country, what do you look for? away from roads? Cover? A certain side of the hill? funnels? I am sure there are a lot more questions I could ask but lets start with that. If you don't feel like exposing the answers to these questions to the world I would really appreciate a PM. Thanks Guys and Girls! B
