Didn't get picked for leftover tag...
Pine Donkey replied to newazhunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
What address did you mail it to? If you sent it in the pre-printed envelop it went to the PO box, then had to be picked up and taken out to the office during the day on Monday. However, if you addressed an envelop to the carefree highway address, it was likely delivered on Saturday and this waiting for the staff when they walked in on Monday morning. -
Doesn't get any better than Craig's.

Leftover list has been updated again.

It looks like a staff training on the new program is needed so that all AZGFD personnel are on the same page. Thanks for posting the info. My next question would be how, who, why, and when is the decision made to use one option over the other.

I don't think they established a process for that did they? Just kinda said it could be one of many things. I'm hoping its just the next guy in line that would have gotten it because I can't imagine the chaos with everyone trying to race to get one tag. Guys that live closer would have an advantage as well.Yeah, I'm just speculating. Not sure how they're gonna handle it. We shall see!I talked to a guy the other day who claims he has verified the process with the Game and Fish officials. He drew a good tag, and used a lot of points. So he is going to walk into the office after August 1, and give back his tag and collect his points. He will then hand them a completed application for the same tag, and buy it back as he will be first in line for the now available over the counter tag first come, first serve tag. That's just not right. If this works, it is bad news for all the sheep and antelope applicants that are one bonus point away from max points. Some guys will be hunting goats almost every year! I just called Game and Fish office, lady told me that it will work this way, but it is not the intent of the system. She was not very pleasant when I detailed out the question.

During the rut, there are a lot of wallows. Elk are creatures of habit and they use the same wallows year after year. That time of year, there are also a lot of puddles that are not wallows. By making your own puddle, you have no guarantee it will become a wallow. Your time might be better spent finding an existing wallow off the beaten path.

I fought this for 6 months. I used custom insoles, but also a sleeping boot. The boot keeps your foot in the stretched position. You can buy them at pharmacies.

BIA has confirmed that six firefighters have deployed their fire shelters on the Cedar Fire. Those firefighters are being transported to Summit ER for minor injuries. More to follow.

It looks like someone got a traditional mount, but left it in the car during last weeks heat and it melted into that shape.

What would you build, as the perfect coues cartridge ?
Pine Donkey replied to Splatt's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Hahaha not shooting through the chrono at 800. Just shooting those distances and working the charts backwards, based on poi to verify (or disprove) the velocity. -

It is 1:8. Casey, We just used 1 chrono, but not a cheap one. To verify speeds, I like to move it out to 600, 800, and 1000 and see where it hits compared to the charts. Then work it backwards to verify the speeds. I'll post more as we get along in the process. -

We are pretty happy with it. 24 inch barrel, 70 gr h1000, cci primers. -
But it's a dry heat. So is a welding touch!

Yesterday I made a day trip to Phoenix. I commend all of you that live there, I don't think I could. Heat, people, pavement, traffic, buildings... I was out of my element!

Check your other pictures... You may have one of the monkey that slipped on that banana peel.

We just built a 7mm mag. It is finicky, but with some help from a friend, we finally found the recipe that overlaps Berger 195s. Velocity is 2935. Now we will stretch it out to the long distances. -
