I talk to people all the time about worldly events like geography, history, economics, monetary policy and national debt. So often I am left shaking my head at the lack of understanding the average person has about these subjects. In addition to the lack of general knowledge held by so many, there is a very scary wave of apathy beginning to overtake our nation. As I sat here tonight in despair, wondering about our future, my 18 year old son Garrett gave me a glimmer of hope. He put our debt in a perspective that few Americans have the intellect or desire to understand. He said, "Dad, I've been thinking. Light travels at 186,000 miles per second. That means that it can travel around the earth 7.5 times each second. So, if each mile were worth a dollar to our government, it would take almost three years to payoff our national debt". I quickly did the math and he is right on. He followed with, "If this continues, we will never be able to pay it off. Why don't very many people care about this." What will it take for the average American voter to have the insight of this carefree high school kid? Now if we could just get him to see the value of putting his dirty clothes in the hamper rather than throwing them on the floor...

Great first bull! Congratulations.

Bed sheet and para cord. You can almost always find a way to make a little shade if you have them with you.

That's a great bull whether it is a first bull or not, it is just a toad. Congratulations!

Great bull! Two tags in two years and an arrowhead, you have used up a bunch of luck...I'd say it was well spent. Congratulations.

Cool pictures TJ. I think everybody who knows you through this site knows that you have the highest ethics and would never put a kill above them. We also know that you have never loved the kill as much as the hunt. Keep the pictures and stories coming whether hey be of live animals or another on your many successful kills.

Yep, we got our butts handed to us. I am still not a big Rich Rod fan. We'll see if he can get things put back together before we face Oregon State next week. OSU handled UCLA yesterday. I expect OSU to be ranked in the top 25 and U of A to drop out of top 25 when he rankings are released later today.
