Spent the morning in the rain, then a cold wind. I was chilled all day. Then on the way out I found a Mohave. Hopefully this next cold snap will chase them into their dens.

This election should have been about the economy and national security, but the republicans fell for that old democratic tric of turning the election to social issues like women's rights, gay marriage, abortion, and welfare. How many times are the republicans going to fall for that. I am so tierd of having the republican party trying to get into my bedroom and the democrats trying to get into my wallett!

There are several lab rescue groups that are always looking for people to foster there dogs. If you fall in love, you can adopt the dog.

If you want to jump start a unit into a big buck unit, have a spike only hunt for a year. One year will do wonders!

+1 on new tires. I have blown out several "good" tires that were just a few years old. Now I have two spares. Also, keep a good floor jack in the truck, it makes things much easier on the side of the highway.

Spent this weekend hunting with my wife, Chrystie and daughter Laurie, with the help of our son Garrett, friends Mark (MJE1) and Cody. We had been watching several bucks for the last couple weeks. We were able to find them in the same area until last Thursday when we discovered they were hanging out in a neighboring unit. We found them in that unit again on Friday and Saturday. We watched each day as hunters pursued them, but never heard any shots. At first light this morning Mark found them again, and they had returned to our unit. Garrett and Laurie took off after them. They could not get closer than 368 yards, so Garrett set his .270 on the mount he made. She took a practice shot at 368 yards and another at about 390. The buck stopped briefly at 400 yards and Laurie dropped him. Chrystie and Laurie Garrett, Cody and Laurie
