I voted! Andrew is not only good at making videos, he is also very helpful to those trying to learn the ins and outs of making videos. Great guy all around.

Good basketball players let the game come to them rather than try to dictate the game with their style of play. Good hunters do the same thing. When hunting, if the animals are vocal and responding to calls, then call. If they are not, you will not have much success forcing "your" style of hunting on the animals. As far as calling before the season, that happens a lot. Calling and spotlighting is a favorite pastime in many mountain towns.

Tough to beat Big Lake for scenery.

I went to Luna on Sunday and Monday. A few bites, and one fish caught between several poles. Nice carry-over trout, but pretty slow overall.

Much of the water in this state is maintained for cattle. Deer, elk and other wildlife benefit from it. Without the cattle industry, and the millions they spend annually to make sure water is available, the wildlife numbers in the state would plummet. No doubt that cattle do change the landscape and vegetation, but so do other animals. Have you ever seen what happens to a pristine mountain spring with a bull elk taking his first wallow of Spring? I would argue that Spring is not destroyed, and it will recover. It is not likely that this recent visit by cattle is the first it has ever seen. That is a beautiful spring. I would bet that when a thirsty deer, elk or bear shows up they will still drink. They have coexisted their entire life with cattle...they do not know any different. Anyone that feels cattle push deer out of an area should avoid those areas with cattle. I myself have had a lot of success hunting amongst those delicious bovines.

I have the Badlands 2200. Several times I have packed out an entire coues deer, or a hind quarter of an elk. However I am looking to upgrade to the tenzing.

My recommendation is have lots of hanky panky...nothing to do with Maui but still a good recommendation.

Hopefully it will stay in the grasslands and not move into the heavier vegetation. High winds predicted for tomorrow.
