    Lion hunt after work

Amanda, Here is a cell phone picture of the mine shaft. Quality is poor, but you can see Mark going down the ladder to tie a rope around the cat.

    Lion hunt after work

It was dark during the extraction process, and nobody had a camera with a flash. We did not plan that part very well. On a side note, it is a pain in the butt to pack a latter in, but it sure made it east to carry out the cat without damaging the hide.
  3. I am a conservative working in the public schools. (yeah, there are a few of us, but we are hard to find) I find this funny, in a sad way during our current political situation.

    AKC Labrador Puppies

My daughter Andie decided to breed our AKC chocholate lab, Winchester to Badger, an ACK yellow lab. Puppies are papered and we have pedigrees on both parents. She had 11 puppies, she has 8 yellows for sale, 5 females and 3 males. they have had first shots, are healthy and very well socially adjusted to other dogs and kids. They are ready to go this week, and will make a great Mother's Day gift. I will be making a trip to the East Valley area on Saturday, May 8th to deliver puppies. Males $350, females $400. 5% of sales through CWT will be donated to the site. For more information send a PM or call 520-255-1368

  6. I have gone through this same thing with my daughter. She started with a Remington .243 at about age 6. It is a great all around rifle, and she took both coues and carp with it as well as a couple pigs. At 11 years old she drew the youth elk tag. I was not comfortable with the .243 for elk, but found the transition to the .308 was very easy for her. She has taken 2 elk with that gun, both on a single shot. I find it a bit funny that you are planning on using this gun for yourself in the future. I had the same naive thoughts years ago. Now she has decided to move out of the dorms, and into an apartment. Not only is she planning on taking "her" guns with her, she has suggested others she "must" have to live on her own. One suggestion I will make is that you buy a youth stock for your gun rather than cutting down the original stock. The fit and balance will be better, and, if she grows up as fast as my daughter, you will need that large stock soon. Regardless of the gun you choose, it is the time spent together and the memories made that will be special. Enjoy every one of them.

    Student Walk Out

It's real simple. If students want to organize a peaceful rally or protest on their own time (lunch, before school, etc.) that is fine, and that is how we voice our support or displeasure with our government. If they walk out of school in protest, that is unacceptable. They should be suspended for leaving campus, and loose priviliges such as athletic participation, prom, or graduation ceremony. These rules apply for any issue in a high school. Any administrator who applies the rules differently based on their own beliefs is as pitiful as our elected officials in Washington who voted for the health care bill against the wishes of their constituents. Kids can't be allowed to run the schools! If they are allowed to leave school to protest this issue, what will the next issue be?...maybe they will "need" to leave because the cafeteria food is not good enough! Then, if they don't get what they are protesting for, will the same administrtor support them in a riot, or street vandalism? Our schools belong to our tax payers. They must not be the vehicles of social engineering for the few who run them.

Need somewhere to go this weekend?

Amanda, great pictures. I showed them to my wife who loved them, but she was really impressed you could get your dog to sit still long enough to take a picture. She is only able to get "action" shots of our dogs.

  13. We have been hearing stories of an albino muley in the area. We found it this evening and Garrett was able to get a few nice pictures. I don't think it is an albino, but it is quite interesting.
  14. The following has been floating around the internet for a bit now. Does any body see this being a possibility either temporarily or permanently? 17. I just talked to some poeple who knew Mr. Krentz. They said he was a hard working, devoted family man. He cared for his animals, the land, and even helped the illegals who destroyed both. This is the loss of a great American, and steward of the land. All at the hands of invaders to our country, while our kinder and gentler practices promote these activities. It is time to make our country safe for our citizens. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Krentz family. Hopefully heaven will have a beautiful and safe ranch waiting for him.
  18. A lot of very bad things are happening down here, and they don't make the news. Agents are reprimanded for "leaking" the truth, and the media does not cover much of what is happening. Multiple dead bodies are being found with bullets in them, houses are being raided with the residents home, and last week, a van of illegals smashed through the fence at a a public school. This is all kept quiet by Border Patrol, and the media is not interested in covering these stories. Rural border lands are under seige: they have become a dangerous place to be in the outdoors. This is one of the saddest things I have ever seen.
  19. Our chocolate lab Winchester gave birth to 11 beautiful pups this morning. Mom and babies are doing fine.

Guess the Score Contest - Jan 2010

Guessing the score on that beast is about like guessing the size of the State's deficit, but I will take a stab at it; 133 4/8. Truely a buck of a lifetime regardless of score!

    stuck case

I have been able to do it by unthreading the expander shaft and pulling out the expander ball as far as possible, until it lodges into the neck. Then unscrew the expander shaft from the expander ball. Next, using an awl, tap the expander ball loose and it will drop into the bottom of the casing. Then use your awl to drive the casing out of the die (be sure you are not crushing the expander ball). Lastly you will have to cut the casing open to get the expander ball. This has worked for me in the past, but maybe I just got lucky. Good luck
