    Unit 1 Goat

Tommy, Your reply to my scouting pictures was dead on. You called him mid-70's and 13-14 high. You were also one who said if you like him, just shoot him. Thanks for your input. I spend a lot of time in units 1 and 27, my parents have a place in Dry Valley, I hope to run into you up there some day.

    Any talk??

In the Dry Valley area of Unit 1 they were quite vocal all weekend, but it looked like pre-rut activity only. A couple small bulls pushing eash other around with larger bulls off by themselves not paying much attention. Raghorns were holding the herds of cows. Should be a great hunt.

    one last scouting trip

We made our last scouting trip this past weekend. Here are a couple goats we found. The first one looks OK, but not much mass. I think the second one may be a very good buck, he has nice cutters. Please help me score these bucks. Goat 1 Goat 2 Any help with scores is greatly appreceated.
  7. That thing is so big it looks fake. Congratulations.

    I got coues fever

The support group, for the addiction, meets on Wednesdays. We don't have a 12 step process, it's more of a 12 month type of thing...but it doesn't seem that many members ever make it out. Sort of a lifelong affliction.

    werid bull

I know that velvet makes everything look like it has more mass, but look at his left main beam compared to the ear width in the third picture. Wow!

    Game camera regs

If I pull my 5th wheel trailer out to a camp site, then hike into a spike camp area for a couple days, is my 5th wheel considered abandoned? This just does not seem legal!

    Dinner time

A former student took this photo over the weekend. It is at her dad's house in Elgin. This disproves the old saying, "The only good snake is a dead snake". We could use a few of these king snakes around campus.

    Antelope Photos

Thanks Red Rabbit. I have watched that video a few times now, and have committed much of it to memory. I am now trying to practice my judging skills, but the opportunities to look at an animal, make an estimate, then get an actual number are pretty limited. I did find great value in another post of "largest antelope". I have also been looking at live goats every chance I get. I will be back in the mountains this weekend pearched behind a tripod. Thanks for putting up another of your beautiful pictures, I always enjoy them.
