    Ty's great Mule Deer!

The first shot was impressive, but that second shot...oh wow! I wonder if he made it with dirty underware after the buck busted out of the brush! Congratulations Ty, that is a great buck.

    Huntin' Jokes

A guy went out bear hunting with his trusty 22-250. On the first morning he spotted a large bear, snuck into range, and put a well place shot right behind the shoulder. The bear stood up looked at him and said, "that really hurt!". The scared hunter asked, "are you going to eat me?" the bear said, No, but I am going to have my way with you sexually!" That night, as the hunter sat at home reflecting on the events of the day, he became very angry with the bear. The next day he headed out again, this time with his 30-06. He found the same bear and again placed a nice shot behind the shoulder. Again the bear stood up and said, "that really hurt". The hunter again asked the bear it it was going to eat him. The bear replied, "no, it will be the same routine as yesterday." That night the sore, tattered hunter sat at home and decided that he was not going to take this from the bear. The next morning he headed out again, this time with his 300 mag. He again found the bear, and again placed a shot right behind the shoulder. Again the bear stood up and complained that it really hurt. He walked over to the terrified hunter and said, "you're back again? I guess its not the hunting you like!"

    Huntin' Jokes

An 85 year old guy goes into the doctor for a checkup. After the exam the doctor tells him he is in reasonably good shape for his age. The old guy is offended that the doctor did not compliment him on his physical condition, and shot back that he is in great shape, has a wonderful life, and even has a 20 year old wife who is pregnant. He then asked the doctor, "what do you think about that?" The doctor replied that he has another patient that is 95 and is an avid hunter. A couple weeks ago he went out elk hunting. As he walked slowly down a trail, a nice big cow stepped out. It was then that he realized he had forgotten his gun and only had his walking stick. He decided to enjoy the moment and raised his walking stick to his shoulded, pointed it at her and said "BANG". To his amazement the elk fell over dead. The doctor then asked, "what do you think about that?" The 85 year old man replied "logic tells me that somebody else put that shot in her". "My point exactly" replyed the doctor!

    Bringing dog to hunting camp

About 15 years ago we had a large elk camp in unit one. A person we knew from our town had also drawn the same tag but did not know the area, so we invited him along. His wife brought her two yappy snousers along. It did not take too long for all of us to get tierd of the constant harrassment from these dogs. One day we were shooting our bows, and as we tried to pull our arrows, the dogs were nipping at us. She would call them back, and it would happen again. Finally I had enough! I pulled one of the orange dots off the target and stuck it on the side of one of the dogs. The lady was quite offended, but she made sure to keep the dogs in her trailer. I enjoy dogs all the time, even in camp, but they must be "good" dogs with good owners. If the owner allows the dogs to do as they wish without consideration of others it becomes very annoying to everybody. We bring are dogs along whenever we camp, but we make sure they do not bother others, and that everybody knows, long before we leave, that we will have our dogs with us.

I am a fan of Arizona athletics, both U of A and ASU! Heck, I even follow the Lumberjacks. No doubt, in the head to head game I am cheering for the Wildcats, but to me the ideal game would be a National Championship between U of A and ASU. I want both programs to be successful on the national level. With that said, both schools have a lot of work to do and neither should be content. ASU is having a good year this year, and I am thrilled, but they are not at the nation powerhouse level yet. This week's game will tell a lot and I hope they come out with the W. Over the past three years they have been mediocre at best, and sitting home during the bowl season. I hope the administration, fans, and alumni are not content with where they are right now, because they have not created the things they need to be a lasting power house. Ericson has done a nice job of cleaning up the mess left by Dirk Kutter. Kutter was an offinsive thinker who let the defense dwindle. Ericson has cleaned that up, but I don't think we will get much more out of him, and I don't think he will be able to elevate the Devels to a tier one level. I am a bit worried about next year with the amount of key players who are seniors. This is where the U of A was last year, and look at where they are now. In Tucson there is no two ways about it, the football team sucks. I was at the NAU game and felt NAU was the better team in the first half. Mike Stoops did a nice job of taking the team from where they were to where they are now, but I don't think he can take them much further, and Burns made a good, and bold call by making the mid-season move. There are a lot people in Tucson who complain about Burns because of his ASU background. These fools are hippocrates; not a one of them is saying the same thing about Mike Candrea! The AD's and upper administration at both schools need to work their respective supporters and doners to raise the funds (private funds, not tax payer dollars) to hire and retain tier one coaches and staff, and to make sure they have tier one facilities. Until then, all we have is a small-time pissing match about who won the last and who won the most U of A vs. ASU games. We need to set the bar much higher!
