That is a great buck, congratulations.

I don't understand insurance companies. They make all kinds of promises to get your business, then when you need them, they are not interested in you. Hope this all works out well, keep us updated.

Pretty cool Jamie!

Wade, I love ya man, but the Federal Government needs to stay the heck away from educating our children... They've already done irreparable damage. Just use the money to chip away at the $15 trillion... +1 Scooter

I think it is based on a Gieco commercial where Jackwagon was used in place of jacka$$.

which of course is the reason he came here to promote it in his very first post. haha its not why I came here, i have heard of this forum from many avid hunters. However, ease of use vs. utilization of a mobile site is friendlier in terms of the end user. PM notification push's, easier forum navigation, automated logins, and let the list go on... Besides I imagine this site generates enough revenue to integrate support into the site, or is it a recurring cost that is outside of budget? This was just an idea, if there are no plans then of course no worries. I use my droid everyday to view, post, and PM on this site. The current Mobil ap Amanda has works great.

I think Leavitt would be a great hire. Maybe he can finally bring some much needed discipline to the team. Yeah if they don't he will grab them by their throats, slap them in their face....then LIE about it.... he'd be a great fit in the shadows of Frank Kush.... Even though when he was a USF they were a VERY undisciplined team.... I hope this rumor stated by John Gruden holds up....ASU will suck again Good point Redman. Could be a case of history repeating itself.

Sounds like you and your dad had a great morning. Those are memories that will last for a long time. Looks like Lexie didn't mind too much either. -
Old cowboys have spent their lives working and caring for their land. They create better ranges and habitat for their animals and in turn for wildlife. They attend the university of real life and earned their credentials through a life in the saddle and on the range. Many couple their generational knowledge with university degrees in biology or agriculture, or that horrible hugger hated degree, business. Huggers use the facade of science and education to promote a political agenda that is funded through special interest groups full of members who have built their love of the outdoors through Walt Disney. These wonderful huggers and the regulations/laws they have pushed through have been instrumental in things like the Rodeo-Chedisky and Wallow fires. Those are examples of massive deforestation that sit right in the laps of the huggers...thanks for taking care of us. Enjoy your holyer than thou groups of huggers, and feel good about imposing your will on others. I'll spend my time in the outdoors that I love, along with hard working, salt of the earth people, like hunters and old cowboys. We will enjoy and protect our prestine outdoors until you and your buds burn it all down.

I saw one standing in the open one time. That was crazy, those crafty little deer can hide behind a single blade of grass!

Some reports are still saying Jim Leavitt is still in the mix. He would also be very good. As long as they gave up the ideas of June Jones and Hue Jackson.

Of all the names kicked around the past two weeks, Wittingham is the best.

Hmm, I'm not sure they're one and the same. This seems to be a bit of a contradiction, no? “Take,” as defined by law, includes pursuing, shooting, hunting and killing wildlife. You are unlawfully using a vehicle to take wildlife if you intentionally drive around until you see the animal you wish to harvest and then make an attempt to take. “Road hunting” is illegal; so is pursuing wildlife with a vehicle, chasing or heading off moving wildlife with a vehicle, and driving offroad to get closer to wildlife. You do not have to shoot from the vehicle to be in violation. Also, I'm guessing that each wildlife manager MIGHT interpret the law differently, given individual scenarios. Tony, I think we are saying the same thing here. What I said is that Kevin's account did not show that the hunters were " intentionally drive(ing) around until you see an animal you wish to harvest then make an attempt to take". They may have been driving from one place to park at another when the buck was spotted. The other point I made is that they did not shoot from a "maintained" road since they were on a two tracker. The situation was a bad one, and if I were Kevin I'd be quite upset. I do not like that style of hunting and I am not trying to support those in the white dodge. I am just saying I am not so sure they broke any laws. Offen times factions within the hunting community attack each other because they don't like their style of hunting. If somebody is taking game in a legal way, but one which I do not like, it is my duty as a fellow sportsman to support their right to do so. When we begin to define our hunting rights in the narrow areas that we prefer, we all begin to lose our hunting rights. This fragmentation of hunting groups and rights was used to take away our ability to use leg hold traps on public land. The same tactics may again be used to take additional hunting away, such as pursuits by dogs, killing of loins or bears or...who knows what. If someone is legally hunting, I support them even if I don't like their style of hunting. I hope they will do the same for me!

Thanks Tony for posting the "official" version of what I posted.

I promised myself I would stay out of this one...but I am weak. Are we talking about wolves or hybrid dogs with some wolf genes?

I usually don't get involved in to many dicussions on who is right or wrong but I still have another half a pot of coffee to drink so I'll chime in. How do you know they were definitely illegal ROAD HUNTERS as you say? I never read where Kevin said they were shooting from the road or using their truck as a rest. Correct me if I'm not seeing the whole picture here. So, I'm driving down a two track road and if I spot a buck I am to say to my partner we can not get out and shoot because we spotted it while driving to another spot? TJ I agree with you on this one TJ. There is nothing in Kevis's account that shows they were illegally road hunting rather than just driving from one place to another. Several years ago I did a ride along with our local wildlife manager. We had a lenghy discussion about road hunting as it is a huge problem during the Muley seasons in this unit. First thing that popped out of Kevin's story was that they were driving a 2 track. A two track is not regularly maintained therefore not considered a road when it comes to the laws about shooting from a road. Also, since it was not legally a road, according to our game manager it is ok, and by him even recommended, to use the vehicle as a rest. He said that if your feet are on the ground and you are not gaining an advantage of heigth then it is good for the animal if you get a good rest. Lastly, there is no law that prevents road hunting. The law prevents anyone from using a vehicle to aide in the taking of wildlife whether a road is involved or not. With all this said, "road hunters" frustrate the heck out of me. This is one reason I walk long distances in the morning before first light. Kevin, I am glad you were not hurt. I hope that if I am ever in that situation that I will choose to hit the deck rather than to jump up and yell, but who knows how I would actually react in the heat of the moment. Recently somebody mentioned they pulled out the orange meat shelf on there badlands 2200. That is a good tip I will be keeping in mind.
