Haven't forgotten that buck. That buck is what keeps me going back to Mexico each year! Taken while hunting with Derrick Taylor.
-
I echo Kevin's words but would also like to add.....................your buck may qualify for the new world record jack-a-lope. That body is TINY the more I look at it.
-
Uh, I had a great Mexico trip this year and I'm jealous! Those are some amazingly large framed deer. Congrats Jim and gang on some very beautiful deer!
-
Thanks guys, I enjoyed reading about your hunts as well, Tim and Jay. I am already getting excited for next year after seeing everyone's HUGE deer they took this year. Good job, everyone. Dan, you gonna make it down next year?

I really really like Mexico...

Sniper, I wouldn't worry about the photos doing that buck justice. That buck is SICK! You are whacking and stacking some monsters. Big congrats to you and your cousin for some Sweet deer. Sounds like our hunt was ending with the storm as your's was starting. We literally couldn't hunt for 2 days towards the end of the hunt. The wind was the worst part as I don't mind the rain without wind. -
I know, you should have seen him on the hoof. He seriously looked like a Texas Whitetail next to the others. Here is a good pic of all the bucks together to get some relativity of the frame. I hated to post it before because as you saw by the scores and individual pics that all the deer are great deer in their own right but they just plain look "smaller" next to the giant framed buck. Kinda like when a long tined 360" bull rack is sitting next to a huge framed, shorter tined bull and you look at them from a distance.

Thanks guys. Sniper, trust me I was REAL torn but I actually thought about your postings about you wanting a 2 point that broke the 100" mark and wondered if "bases" would count or not? Here is a front view of him.

Congrats to Zach! Good job. He has grown up since I last saw him at the Ulmer broadhead tournament in Williams a few years ago. Keep it up buddy. I can't believe my oldest will be hunting this year too! Yea ha, it's good to be a dad!

Phil, You are very smart to make sure you hit all the times. Sometimes those big guys can be real finicky.......interested one day, uninterested the next.......kind of like some old girlfriends I use to have LOL. That country where you're at looks beautiful and I have no doubt you guys will turn up some great bucks and have a good time doing it (most important). So much fun!
-
Phil, Good luck! I am making a quick trip on the 26th -27th also, mainly to put cameras up and cut a road into an area but we'll do a little glassing mornings and evenings. Last year it wasn't good in there until the middle of January so not expecting much this trip. Always good just to be down there though. Travel safe and keep us updated!
-
Jim, What a pig! I hope you find who made that bone this year..........you can guess which one I am referring to. Great find. Good luck down there.
-
Those 300 lb'ers are all over unit 31........lol!!!!!
-
Wow! What a stud. One of the prettiest bucks I've seen. Very many congrats.
-
Phil and Tim, Good luck you guys. Hope the big ones come out to play for you. Was down south of the border last weekend to do some scouting. The feed doesn't look near as nice as last year but they got early enough rains for good horn growth as you guys have already seen. Slam some BIGGUNS!!!!!
-
Very Nice. I echo everyone's sentiments. Congrats on your first coues. Hope it's just the first of many!
-
Awesome Stan. Congrats to Tanner. What memories are made of!

Take care of the meat guys!

Another reason why we usually bone the animals right there in the field. Much better in my opinion. Forces you to do the hard work right away and avoid the possibility of the laziness factor to creep in once you get back to camp. -
Another Season Came and Went.

Nice deer Phil. Congrats. Good luck in Mexico. -
Congratulations Mason Jr.! That is some fantastic shooting! I hope my 9 year old can follow in your footsteps next year. I relish those days in the field with my dad......and I was still packing gear and not shooting at your age so you have a big head start, buddy. Great Job!!!!!!!
