Regular ol' forked gun rack type mounts, with the extra shock cushioning. Never had a problem with a bow with this setup.

Check Russell Outdoors APXg2. Pretty affordable for performance wear. Sportsmans Warehouse carries it. I have several pieces, but I still have the Cabelas packable stuff for rain...very packable, but not very breathable. It's held up well, but I have to be careful in the brush.

The most important thing to consider.....anyone who chooses to use a gun for self-defense must do some soul searching and decide in their own mind if they are willing to take a human life. If the situation ever arises, and there is any hesitation or second thoughts, that gun could be taken away and used on you. Gun ownership, especially concealed carry, is a big responsibility which a lot of people don't consider.

If she is not able to practice much, learn clearance drills, work the slide, load the magazines (hand strength), etc... then I would recommend a small handgun. I bought my wife a Taurus 5-shot .38 several years ago for a few hundred bucks. Operation is simple and reliable. If she plans to carry concealed or in a purse then get the hammerless version. Integrated laser sight is a good idea too. In the heat of the moment, gun operation has to be second nature. Revolver is pretty much a no-brainer.

Yup....6.5 gallons. I figure I get over 100 miles per tank, but haven't tested it out like your buddy . Most quads have a 3.5 - 5 gallon tank. This reason and ground clearence is why I bought Arctic Cat. Nice machines.

Strelok seems really good, detailed but simple to use. I don't typically use it in the field because I have a ballistic reticle and angle compensated range finder, but use it for theoretical senarios, such as changing scopes, zero range, ammo, windage, elevation, etc. You can select your scope from a long list, and display the sight picture and point of aim. I may use it in the field for my buddy's setup, if there is time. He has a simple plex reticle and this would help with hold over.

I would bet you could move the whole sight up just a smidgen and all pins would be good. The adjustment on the 20 should be minimal.

I had a similar problem when I switched from 100 grain Montecs to 125 grain, for my elk hunt last year. I had to adjust the rest/pins to compensate. I since re-tuned for the 100 grain and went back to the 100 grain Montecs...for now. I am considering a good expandable for deer and pigs. Keep in mind that you may have an issue shooting some expandables through the ground blind mesh window.

This is a great quad, and great price. I have the 2005 500 in cat green. I can't believe it didn't sell for $4000. Kinda scarey, 'cause I was thinking of selling mine to get a Ranger or jeep.

I have the swing blade and love it. Very sharp and easy to sharpen. Just be careful when you "swing" the blade.

A nice straight yucca pole makes a great "Moses Pole" (staff). They are light weight, strong, and great for glassing off of. You can decorate it to your liking. You will want to wrap the grip area with leather or the self-cling camo wrap, otherwise you will get splinters. I use this more than my trekking poles. I do use trekking poles if I'm packing a load. They are nice because they compress down to fit in your pack.

It is always a lingering concern, but have not had a problem with my quads in 7 years. I just put the key in my pack. Sometimes I cable the two quads together side by side....makes it pretty hard to roll them onto a trailer that way. Maybe install a kill switch. Get one of those wheel lock-block things the cops use.

You can get a new Leica 1600 for $649 at camera land NY . Best price I found and no tax or shipping. I don't believe this one has the "angle compensation" built in. You have to buy the 1600-B to get that, for $800. The regular 1600 does read angles. I agree, it gives you the angle, along with atmospheric data,....but does it give you the compensated distance. That's what I want to see in the readout. I don't want to mess with another device for the calculated distance. You may have time for that, setting up for a long rifle shot, but not practicle for archery hunting. I don't want to buy two range finders. The Vortex Ranger 1000, Nikon Rifle Hunter 1000, or Leupold 1000i TBR will no doubt be much improved options over the Leupold RX-II I currently have, but will still have some issues on game at 500+ yards. May be good enough for my shooting range, which is less than 500 yrds. However, I think if I had $375 in gift cards, I'd be real tempted to go for the Leica.......it sure gets complicated.
