Might as well post pictures while you're stuck in traffic.

Little late season freak action!
Viper replied to CWpredator's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Great buck! Cool character! No way I'd pass on that. I like 'em tall. -
Is it a single piece slate, double, triple? They a bear to move, aren't they?

Otis military cleaning kits 5.56/223
Viper replied to My Rights As An American's topic in Classified Ads
PM sent. I will take the last 3 kits. -
I have this same tent...love it. I can set it up myself in about 45 mins. I believe it weighs around 70 lbs, bundled up in the bag...tent, poles, rope, stakes, etc. I think it takes a standard 5" stove pipe. I have the cheapy stove that came with the package deal 9 years ago. It will blow you out of there if it is above freezing. A comfy 75 degrees with 12 degrees outside. If you use the stove, you will need the roof and floor protectors.

Good job. Way to stick with it in bad weather. Great bucks! We had similar overcrowding in our "secret area". Lots of people in and around our spot...and California guys too! What the heck is going on?!
-
That's how I got mine. I really like it. I also have the Swing Blade, which I like too. Just got to be careful "swinging" from one to the other.
-
I have the Piranta. It works great, but I usually break a blade or two processing deer or elk. I also have the Outdoor Edge version of this. It's bigger and more sturdy. The blade changes are easier and safer. I used it on my deer this year and like it better than the Piranta. It is very sharp as well....I cut half way through the tip of my finger

Limbsaver Airtech Recoil Pad
Viper replied to cosninocanines's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have a Limbsaver on my Rem .270 with factory synthetic stock...I can shoot it all day. I talked my buddy into putting one on his .30-06...made a big difference. Not sure which model. -
Now those are cool, and good price! What is the company name for skull cleaning? Do you use beetles?

Mountaneering/hiking boots vs popular hunting boots
Viper replied to creed_az_88's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I've worn the Meindl Perfekt Hiker for several years...many miles on them off-trail. I still give them praises almost every time I put them on. The cork bed molds to your foot for a perfekt fit. It's the first pair of "low tops" I've had for hunting, and really like them. The heat escapes out the top, keeping my feet cooler. I wear a low gaiter with them to keep out the debris. I noticed on the deer hunt, a small portion of sole is starting to separate, and there's not much tread left. I will just "shoe goo" it and start the shopping process. I'd buy the Meindls again if they still fit the same, but am open to others. My feet have grown particular so I know it won't be easy. I wear Keen light hiker on a daily basis and really like the wide foot bed. -
It's like that everywhere now. Way too many tags issued!....er..."hunter opportunity".

Great job on switching gears and gettin' it done. Nice story, great pics/video....I was getting anxious to see that muley in the dirt. I love scouting almost as much as the hunt. It's great when it pays off.

Wow! What a toad! ....in the low desert too.
-
Congrats! Enjoyed the story and pics.

I went with the Aimpoint Patrol model (something like that). It's less money and battery life is way longer. I got a great price at Midway USA.
-
Very cool buck! It's a great feeling to harvest a good buck you've been scouting...and no one else got him first. Congrats!
-
I have that same rifle. I have taken two muleys and one WT, but the longest shot was about 80 yards. That was years ago before my first bolt rifle. It is a pleasure to carry, and definitely doable, within 200 yards. I much prefer my bolt .270 for longer shots. WT are small targets and very tough animals. In the country they live in, if you don't kill them on the spot, you may not find it. Carry it in case you have an opportunity to use it. If the shot is longer than 200 yards, use your buddies rifle.

SOLO Wyoming Antelope hunt "long story, picture heavy"
Viper replied to Big Browns's topic in Antelope Hunting
Congrats! Way to stick with it and work through all the trouble. Heck of a trip. Good write up....I could feel the emotion. It's on my bucket list for sure. -
Where are you located?
-
Nice read! I felt like I was there. Congrats on a nice buck. I too have experienced the company of "the lizard"...while hiding from the hot afternoon, between the morning and evening hunt, under a large juniper.
-
Thanks for the stand Justin, it looks great! Maybe this weekend I can get my steel hung on it and try it out. Rem300, It's roughly 3 1/2' x 3 1/2'

Wow! Holy smokes! Where in heck did you find that dude?! Heck of an elk rack too! Congrats!!
-
Great video! What I do here in AZ doesn't come close to his adventures...but the same spirit lives inside me...in all of us that live, talk, think ethical hunting.

Evan, congrats to you and your brother. I look forward to hearing more about it if you can stop by deer camp.
