    Need Arctic Cat help!

Here is the link to the manual: http://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Arctic-Cat-ATV-Repair-and-Service-Manuals/Arctic-Cat-2005-Service-Manual/ There is a "start here" section. That is the table of contents. You can click on a section and it will open it, instead of scrolling the entire manual.

    Need Arctic Cat help!

I also have two 2005 AC 500 quads. Mine are rear tank, vacuum pump. I had a problem with one of them last year, after leaving gas set too long. But it would idle fine, but cut out under power. I drained the tank and replaced the fuel/vacuum pump first, since it was easy to get to...under the seat. Didn't fix the problem. I rebuilt the carb and that fixed it. Most likely you will need to rebuild the carb. It is pretty simple. You can get the kit from Bass Pro. Several years ago I downloaded the service manual, and that is a big help. I googled it and found it on a small engine/lawnmower repair shop website...if I recall correctly. I would post it, but the whole thing is over 250Mbs.

    Water in the backcountry

I just did a little research on the Sawyer...I hadn't heard of it before. It seems too good/easy to be true. Is it all it is advertised to be? Is it hard to suck water through it? I imagine you have to start with pretty clean water...very little sediment?

    Good Luck w/ PIC!!!!

    Any sheeponi...
  6. I've never had 15's....my buddy does. I have always used 12's. First Pentax, now Leicas. They are lighter and smaller than 15's, with a bit more magnification than 10's. I mostly use them on a tripod, but still can free-hand...especially on top of a walkin' stick. For short hikes, I carry a 65mm spotter, but when I go deep, I carry a doubler. Besides, my buddy has the 15's if I need the extra magnification
  7. I have way too many mollys for a 20 gallon tank and need to thin the herd. They have multiplied rapidly. I have around 30 to give away for free. Black, dalmatian, silver (white), sailfin. All sizes from newborn to large.

    Tropical fish: Free mollys

I posted them on craigslist too. Lately I've been thinking a lot about prepping and I started looking at this fish problem in a different way....maybe a sustainable resource ;-)

    Kifaru Tarp

I am not familiar with these tarp/tipi floorless setups. Is it comfortable to go floorless in AZ? How do you keep an inflatable sleeping pad from puncture? Any problems with spiders/scorpions/mosquitoes/gnats? It seems like a great setup...light, compact. It seems to be a great deal. I checked prices....$570 if bought new.

    Chevelon Canyon (Below dam)?

I did a day trip last year around this time. We hiked in from the west side, about 1/3 way back from the lake...I'm guessing. We were the only ones there the whole day. Fished about a mile upstream and back. Caught a few nice rainbows. The hike out was killer. Ran across 4 black-tail rattlers within that span. Next time, I will wear snake guards.

  14. My buddy got drawn for 5B-S early Nov. archery bull. He asked me to post for advice/tips/tactics on this hunt. We have hunted 5B-S for early archery bull for many years and taken many bulls/cows from our favorite area, which is near FR211. However, this November hunt is a whole different game.....since the bulls are not bugling. Any advice, tactics, experience on this particular hunt is appreciated. Is it hard to find the elk this time of year? Should we expect the elk to be further north, into the junipers? or is this based on weather? The bulls should be separated from the cows...right? Where we hunt in September is not very conducive to glassing. Is it more effective to glass more open country? Thanks in advance!

    2015 January Archery Coues Deer

Congrats! Great job! It is quite an accomplishment taking a deer, of any size, with a bow...let alone, on your own. I love to see young people, especially young women take to hunting. I think it gives them a better perspective on life...and death, and more confidence to face life's challenges. Way to go!

Coleman West Lake pop up Camp trailer

I had this exact model for many years. It held up very well. Bought it new in '98. I sold it maybe 5 years ago due to limited use. It was quite comfortable, with all the amenities. Mine had a "baja lift" on it, so it had good ground clearance, and no hanging plumbing.
  17. Good podcast and topic! Good info. Helps to reaffirm the tactic of glassing into the shady brush...all day.
  18. Oh yeah You know it's bad when you have to take your pants off and use your Havilon to cut it out I know what you mean. I made that mistake one year...came home with 20 holes in each shin. I wear snake guards in shin-dagger country now. They work great.
  19. Very nice buck! You gotta go where the big boys live. I cringe when I see "shin daggers"

    DOUBLE MAIN BEAM COUES DEADHEAD

Looks like the area we hunt, near Oracle. We've been seeing coues in there for the last 6 or 7 years. You two are killers!

    Smith and Wesson M&P Shield

Go to Caswell's or C2 Tactical and try them out. I shot the Shield in .40 and the XDs in 9mm. It's a toss up. The recoil is quite noticeable with the Shield .40. I prefer to stick with .40. I have the XDm .40 compact and love it. It is pretty concealable, but could be better, on my skinny body. I don't like a thumb safety, so I like the two safeties of the XDm/XDs...backstrap safety and trigger safety. My son is planning to buy the XDs in 9mm....so maybe I'll wait and play with it for a while.

    Good Guy Seller List

IMO, I don't see the need. I haven't had a problem with anyone I've bought or sold from on this site. I look at their number of posts as a barometer...or comfort factor. I figure if they've been a member for any length of time, they know the good character this site and the majority of it's members represents. I once bought a GPS from a member in Texas. The GPS and my money crossed in the mail....no issues. If it's a big ticket item, I prefer to meet face - face. It seems like this could open a can-o-worms. Who's the judge to decide someone is not a "good guy"?
