Looking for HSM 6.5x284 Norma ammo resource

Huh, my quick search shows only Midway and Cabela's have it in stock. I'll let him know. -
Looking for HSM 6.5x284 Norma ammo resource
Viper replied to Viper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
OK...I haven't done a search this week. When he/I searched early last week, everyone was out of stock. HSM must have finally caught up. Thanks, I'll check again. -
The Shield 9mm is a great option. Very concealable and naturally points to POA.

6.5-284 norma Hornady case sticking ?
Viper replied to Hunt7112's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I know nothing about reloading, but check this. My buddy ran into this when ordering ammo for his 6.5x284 Norma. The new HSM ammo looked different...shorter overall length. He did research and found there is also a 6.5x284 Winchester. The bullet length is shorter and seated deeper. Also there is a slight difference in the cartridge shoulder dimensions. There was no identification on the box...no Norma, no Win. The correct stuff has Norma on the box. -
Thanks. Here's the link to my writeup on this hunt. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/70410-got-it-done-mondayall-day/

I wasn't sure if I would like the Kuiu 3200 over my Outdoorsmans Optics pack, but it performed quite well last December, packing out a boned mature coues, gear, and rifle...probably around 85 pounds.

Looks like it's just their Outlet inventory with limited sizes.

I used to make several trips to San Diego to visit my son when he was stationed there. I did some research on it to be sure. Gun and ammo does not need to be in separate compartments, just unloaded. The gun/mag must not accept more than 10 rounds. Both must be in a locked case while inside the car and while being transported between car and building, or locked in the trunk. At first, the only low cap handgun I had was my wife's 5-shot .38, so that's what I took. After I got her (me) a Shield 9mm, that is what I took. I carried as usual until Yuma, then unloaded and put gun and mags in a lockable pistol case on the rear floor, in reach. I had a small luggage-type padlock on it, dangling open for quicker access. I figured if I got stopped, I would reach back and push the lock closed. This is how I understood the law, and what I did to transport. Research it yourself to be sure. - P.S. I am really glad I don't have to go to Cali anymore!

^^^ That's what I'm thinking.

I'd like to check them out. What do they look like? What is the actual name of them? Can you post a picture? Maybe a pic of the label?

Shooting See Through Suppressor in Super Slo Mo

This idea has come to mind several times over the years. Years ago I was on Sheriff Joe's posse...Search & Rescue. I once mentioned to a G&F officer the idea of a similar posse program. He wasn't keen on the idea at all. I think an "eyes and ears" program could work. Maybe be issued a radio. Go through some training. No way we would be allowed to detain or issue citations/warnings. G&F are spread so thin, I would think they would be receptive to some kind of help...but that would cut into the budget.

Looks like the two are now one, keeping the same names and brands: https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/together?cm_sp=CblAqSep2017_EMAIL&om_rid=ALolYI&om_mid=_BZyXVaB9gegzhE

Doesn't really matter to me anyhow. I like Sportsmans Warehouse best.

How much $

Right, but I thought originally it was a buy out of Cabelas...changing the name and all. This sounds a little different. Sounds like they're going to keep each identity and branding. I hope they don't change Cabelas too much.

I've seen that too where I hunt too...sometime around the 20th. I have average 3x3's to spikes hard horned, however, today I glassed a 100" 3x3 in full velvet, same general area.

pretty close. A marathon running former recon marine. So your huckleberry can run faster than you?....that's not good.

Ah...I thought the parallax adj on the bell was out of place. My Burris has that.

A day off can be a good recharge. I have killed, seen kills more in the second half than in the first. Its nearly impossible to keep up with elk going away from you. Figure out where they're going and be there ahead of them, waiting....usually a bedding area.

Best Practices to Setup and Attach a Trail Cam???
Viper replied to rossislider's topic in Trail Cameras
All good tips mentioned above. I use mineral licks in places far away from roads or easy access. Choose natural animal travel routes, like saddles. However, if cattle are in the area, they will dominate the mineral lick and really tear up and polute the area. Technically, I think the Forest Service has a problem with nails/screws in live trees. If it's an area they won't find then... Just don't use a lag that penetrates too deep. I can usually find a sturdy tree stump, stob, or log. I find the cloth camo tape conceals the best. Definitely use a security box to keep people/animals from tampering.
