6.5 PRC tight chamber reamer fix?
Viper replied to Viper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
No, I haven't tried that. I have them. That's just pushing the brass further into the die, right? It seems it would bump the shoulders more/too much. The guys on LRO tried custom dies and modifying dies. The conclusion is that it is a chamber tolerance issue and the correct fix is a corrected reamer. I start seeing it on the 3rd firing. I am "renting" a reamer from a LRO member. I should get it by end of the week. I've never done this before so it should be interesting. -

Flying with a large hunting backpack? How do you do it?
Viper replied to Viper's topic in The Campfire
Follow up: I packed my Kuiu 5200 in a large suitcase with all my backpacking gear. Binos and a few other items were in a carryon. -
Too bad it's angled.

Camofire has the Refuel quite often.

My son is interested. Would you consider a trade for a Springfield XDs 9mm? With original carry case, 4 mags, OWB & IWB holsters.

That's a really tough break. I've had some great hunts/memories in 5B-S. I hope you can recover well and resume bow hunting.
-
I would like to know as well. Do you get false triggers from all that grass and leaves blowing around? Always seems to be an issue with mine.

I was on my 2nd pair of Meindl Perfect Hiker, made for Cabelas. The first pair lasted 5+ years. The uppers are still in good shape but the sole is worn out. The second pair lasted a year, then the soles started delaminating. Very comfortable boots, but a bit heavy. In June I bought a pair of Crispi Valdres. More comfortable than the Meindl's, and lighter weight. Required very little break in. Did a 15 mile backpack trip a week after purchase with no issues. Love these boots! Ross Outdoors and Archery Headquarters carries Crispi boots.

My kitchen is due for an update. I am weighing options. We have quotes ranging from ~$13k (for reface and granite tops) to ~$25k (for full replacement). I have a hard time spending that much $ for this. I am pretty handy and have done other remodel projects on the house, so one option is to attempt this on my own. 1) Just refinish (stain) the cabinet boxes and order replacement unfinished door/drawer fronts, stain, install. Hire out the granite install. 2) Attempt to DIY reface, similar to option 1. Hire out the granite install. 3) Attempt to order new cabinets and install myself. Hire out the granite install. 4) Bite the bullet and hire it all done. Any advice, suggestions, experience, recommendations for a reputable cabinet guy/business are welcome.

Do they post the results or do we just look for one in the mail? Nothing showing on my portal.
