  1. If your a hand loader I like the .280 (sorry Lark). But I will never say a bad word about the .270 or .308 for that matter. Its all just a matter of opinion if you ask me. But I like the .280 and .270 AND good ol .30-06 better that the .308. Just my opinion that does not mean crap.

    Washington or Kansas?

My cousin and her husband lived in Seattle for a few years. Her husband is a big hunter and he grew up in New Mexico. He loved hunting in Washington. He said there is nothing like it. and easy travel to other states as well. He just ignored the tree Hughes and went about his business. But there is plenty folks that are pro hunting in Washington from what he said. And great fishing as well.

Start the search for the new Sun Devil head cach. I would love to see Mike Leach to see which Arizona school gets the better of the two coaches. There was a ton of Cat fans hoping that Leach would be the next coach (I was not one of them). This will be very interesting for years to come to see whic school had the best hier.

The rumor now is ASU has Kyle Whittingham (head coach of Utah) in the bag. If this proves to be true I think that is a solid hire for the Devils.

I hate the BCS system. They need a playoff in the worst way IMO. I will not watch the rematch of LSU and Bama in the title game. LSU and Bama already played this year and LSU won in Alabama. So when they play again and if Bama wins then they are the National Champion.......I don't think so. It just does not make sense period. Bama didn't even win their division let alone their conference. I would love to see Oklahoma St. play LSU but that is not going to happen.

Great post (as usual) Lark. And your right any fan base has some jerk fans. I used to give ASU a hard time about having bad fans but after seeing some UofA fans behavior at games recently UofA fan have no room to talk.

Come on Lark all these comments from you about Tucson are no better than "your momma wears combat boots" cut downs from grade school.

June Jones would have been a VERY interesting hire if ASU had not crap the bed with that hire. Its hard to argue he is a good college coach. Look at his time at Hawaii. And he has done a nice job at SMU. Anyone that can take Hawaii to a BCS bowl and a 12-1 overall record is not a bad coach. Look at SMU. They are just now getting over the NCAA death penalty and Jones has done a nice job there. But then this comes http://www.abc15.com/dpp/sports/sports_blogs_local/blog-coaching-search-getting-messy-for-asu ......And I really wonder who will sign up to work for Lisa......

This has to hurt if your a Devils fan. Seeing as Byrne is a ASU grad. The more I think about it the more I take back my thought about ASU being a sleeping giant when it comes to college football. http://www.coachingsearch.com/home/150-sun-devils-ad-making-greg-byrne-look-brilliant.html

You are right Lark. The meat off the bones is great stuff. We always do all the bones and we use a pressure cooker. No waste and great meat. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24797

    VERY DISAPPOINTED AND RATHER DISGUSTED

Great post Coach. I cant agree more. And for me butchering your kill is part of the fun. I really enjoy the entire process. And your 100%correct on taking off all the fat you can. That stuff will turn your meat gamey in a hurry. I usually add pork fat back to the hamburger to keep it together. Butchering our own game is one of those things I am so thankful my family has always done and something I was able to learn form my family. And for the guys that have not processed your own game yet you should really give it a shot. It may not be perfect the first few times you do it but who cares. You will learn and have the satisfaction of knowing you did the job yourself and did it the right way.

    unit 29

I have hunted a lot on private land in 29 and I mean a lot. Mule deer and Coues. I tell people all the time that even though I have access to private in 29 we always end back in public and do just as well. I know it is hard to believe but its true. The only thing I can figure is the illegals put so much pressure walking through private that there is little difference. Just a guess. And I agree with the guy that said find the roughest country and go there. That seems to be accurate IMO. But overall 29 is a crowded unit.
