  1. Is anyone else having problems finding their round of choice from federal premium? Im shooting 270WSM in 140 accubond and cant find it anywhere in town or online. I have a few rounds left from my last box but not nearly enough to feel comfortable going into the field.

    For all yall.

I too gave the two blade Rage a try this season, first off out of the box one of the three would not "lock" close, they would jiggle open in the quiver, and in the blind I bumped a twig and it opened. Needless to say Im going to take Rage up on their offer of 100% Guranteed and send them back. Muzzy 3 blade or my favorite NAP thunder head are the best.

    The Claw

cmc, I think thats a great idea to use in conjunction with a truck window mount, just use the window handle as your elevation fine adjustment and drive or reverse as your windage adjustment. Just be sure to stay away from any of the larger calibers or you could have alot of broken glass in your lap. But seriously now, my only gripe about it besides being another piece of equipment to lug around is that it is redicuously over priced. I mean come on, two pieces of aluminum, two lever screws, some non-slip non-maring meterial and anybody with a little experiance on a mill could make one in no time. Material cost definatly below $40 bucks, with the right production steps and jig set up maching would be a snap.

    New Rifle...

I have a tikka t3 lite in 270wsm, personally I think it is the best looking rifle for that price range. I dont know what it is about the SPS im sure its accurate and just a deadly as the tikka but it just looks like a unpolished turd compared to the tikka and weatherby for that matter. Oh yeah and the detachable magazine is a huge plus.

    Good Gunsmith!

I had my old Argentine Mauser action and barrel put together by Guns Etc., it was delivered on time but the barrel had a few dings in it that were not there when I dropped it off, the caliber stamping had overlapped letters and a mauser small ring action scope base was mounted, problem being that the argentine is a large ring mauser action so it shot ONLY 10 feet high the first time out. So, thats my experience with Guns Etc, Im sure others have nothing but good things to say about him, but this was my experience.

    Stinging and Biting Critters

They are neat little creatures, and you will run across one one day but, whats the rush, after all they are deadly(rattlers at least). That being said I have come across 5 rattlers in the wild(im 22). Even though you havnt seen any, take a guess at how many you walked right by without even knowing. O yeah, and they can swim too.

    AZ MULEY

Great deer man, good job. For an Arizona desert muley I wouldnt have to decide to pull the trigger or not.
  10. Let me paint the sceen for you.... Its a month before Rifle Elk opens in Arizona, so of coarse its off to the rifle range to sight in. Sure Ive done it, we've all done it. But its always the guys with the .300 RUM, 7 RUM, or .300 Wby and maybe some .338s in there as well, that always stand out. They are middle to late aged, with a weatherby ultra light or custom rifle that ALWAYS has a barrel break. They bring along with them 2 buddies of equal age and a container with 50 of their latest and greatest handloads. Oh yeah, and the shooter or one of his buddies has a tatoo on his leg of questionable taste- even for the rifle range. And the sighting in begins, but no it doesnt take just 2 or 5 or 10 shots, it takes the whole dang container to just really make sure its sighted in. And every time the trigger gets pulled your hit with percussion wave that giggles your nuts like 2 avacado pits in the sink garbage disposal. Can anyone else relate to this experiance? I know I can

    Remington AR-15

you could probably find rings for 50 bucks and the 150 that you save, invest that into a better scope. thats what I would do.

    Rifle Range Commandos

Im glad you all have seen the humor in the post over the critisism, coues'n'sheep- yes a rifle exactly like that, but your tatoo is tasteful, there was this one guy at usery with a naked latino woman tatood around his leg like a stripper pole and her naked "assets" spared no detail untouched.

    The Lucky Bean II

I am amazed at all the pictures of illegals/smugglers that these southern unit hunts produce. Makes you think something more should be done to stop this from happening, especially the guys with the bails of weed strapped to their back. When the economy finally gets back on its feet and the border becomes an issue again- if all the hunters sent in their photos showing what a normal person can plainly spot on any given day down there it would probably help in getting something done. Ignorance is bliss, but if those photos get out there it can be ignored.

    Up hill shot aim low?

Yep, so if it was a 40 degree shot he would of been spot on, im guessing it was probably only 10 or 20 degrees
  18. CurlyCarl

    Up hill shot aim low?

Im gonna get technical on ya so follow me, bullet drop is caused by gravity, gravity only acts perpendicular to the earths surface, so if you break your angled shot into both a horizontal and vertical componet, gravity only acts on the bullet for its horizontal path. If you multiply [cos(angle) times line of sight distance] that equals your horizontal componet which is the distance you should aim for. If your angle is postive for uphill or negative for downhill you still get the same answer so you will always have to aim low for both shots. Thats a mathmatical explanation saying, yes aim low for both uphill and downhill, but take into cosideration the angle of the shot along with the line of sight distance. bullet weight is not a factor for drop, if you have an orange in one hand and a bowlingball in the other, drop em, they hit the ground at the same time.

    .243 WSSM

I see that this is kind of an old thread but... 6000 fps, either someone needs to read the directions on their chrono, or he has a pipe bomb waiting to go off right by his face. Also the barrel twist rate and bullets abilty to stay in one piece even before it leaves the barrel just seem to scream BS.
