  1. I am new to your site and I gotta' tell ya', I am IMPRESSED with Amanda and all you usual contributors! Fantastic content! And the photos and vids -- Holy Buckets! Awesome! I am a relatively inexperienced Coues Deer hunter (hunted them twice with a rifle, successful on small buck in Unit 33, once). But I have to tell you that I think I'm addicted to the little grey ghosts and the country they call home... I recently returned from an archery elk hunt in 6A South where I was blessed to harvest my first bull elk and my first-ever archery kill. Now I'm itching to turn my attention to trying to bag a Coues Deer with stick and string. That's a pretty tall order, I know... What I'm wondering is if any of you guys might be able to point me in the right direction as to where to start scouting in Unit(s) 21, 24A and 24B. I'm not looking for somebody to give me the key to their secret honey hole, but I'd like to see if there are some areas, not too far from the Valley, where I might be able to get into some good whitetail country. I could go down and hunt the Catalinas or the Rincons in 33, but I'd like to find something closer to town, if possible. I shirked my responsibilities to family, work and church quite a bit in preparation for and during my elk hunt so that's why I'm hoping to find something that I can get in and out of for day trips prior to and during the archery season. Any recommendations/advice would be greatly appreciated.
