Did you put in for 22 or 24b? I have this solid suspicion you won't draw it.....

Hey predator, off topic but could you figure out which brand he got and how he likes it? We just built s new shop/house in ND and we don't really have a front door except in the shop part so I want something like that to see if someone is there and who it is.

WTB Alliant Steel powder, steel shot, steel wads 12ga
yotebuster replied to Dave in AZ's topic in Classified Ads
You've peaked my curiosity now. I usually churn through 7-8 cases of waterfowl loads a year here in ND and have investigated reloading them off and on and have always been turned away by higher prices to load and lower quality then factory loads. I haven't reaearched it lately though. Is there a performance or cost advantage that your getting? Or is it just the satisfaction of loading your own? ( I totally get that as I cut my own meat, load my own rifle ammo and make some of my own tackle, mostly for the joy of it and not to save money). -
Speaking of SFP vortex viper PST's. I just bought a lapua with one on it and want to upgrade to a huskemaw. Wanna buy it?

I personally don't like FFP as the crosshairs are going to get very thick when on max power which is when you need them to be thinnest at distance. If you are using the turrets then FFP is definitely not a good idea. The only reason to go with it would be if you plan to shoot at a long distance using a drop reticle with your scope set to low power. If you are taking a long shot usually you better have time to get set up and get the scope to the power that your SFP scope is set up for.

If I had that tag I'd be on the phone to Perkins and granite dells and praying they have openings. That's an awesome tag to have. Don't skimp on it as you probably won't ever get another.

+1. If people used half the energy they do on stupid stuff like this on real problems we'd be living in a whole lot better world. I go to work every day and see little kids with mouths full of cavities with parents on welfare with nicer clothes and cell phones then I have and absolutely no give a sheet about anything in life other then keeping up with the kardshians, and I really begin to question where our world is headed. I have 4 siblings all of them have good careers and educations. We have 1 niece between all 5 of us and probably won't be anymore. I have patients that come in and mom and grandma are both toothless and on welfare and have 6-10 kids between them. This world is de-evolving in a heck of a hurry. If two dudes or two chicks wanna get married and have kids and raise them right, I'm all for it as long as they aren't POS drags on society like the vast majority of this world is becoming.

That'd be the one about the govt staying out of your religious business? The one that allows you to speak and act as you wish? Seems like removing a law that doesn't allow people to marry as they please is right in line with the 1st amendment if you ask me?

I care. All this is is an attack on our Constitutional rights. If you care about anything written in our Bill of Rights you should care too. Could you please define which constitutional right you are referring to?

Nosler is becoming the cheap route these days. Remington is bringing $2 a round for once fireds. Between my brothers and I we have 6 STW's so we go through a lot of brass. If I had any to spare I'd send it your way. I'll check with my brothers.

Time for a new tuck Diesel or Gas
yotebuster replied to AZBUCKEYE's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I'm gonna be the devils advocate on this one and go with gas. I grew up on a farm all my life and have been around diesels and gas engines the whole time. My uncle used to have a saying about diesels. "Trucks, tractors and trains" and I think I agree with him. The upfront and long term costs associated with a diesel are going to be significantly higher. I just bought a new ford 4 door with ecoboost and the max tow package. It handles our toyhauler both in power and payload better then my dads 7.3 powerstroke all day. I looked hard a new power stroke and it would've cost me $18,000 more upfront for it. Oil changes are gonna be about double, not a huge expense but something to factor. Fuel costs in the last 10 years have been about 60-90 cents higher for diesel, although they've balanced out as of late. My ecoboost will get 19 highway not pulling, which is similar to any diesel out there. It loves gas when I pull with it, and will get about 8-10 with the toyhauler on it. My dads powerstroke will do about 12-14 pulling same thing. The amount it sounds like you pull I'd the big kicker. If you hauled for a living that'd be a different story, but for 10-12 times a year as is my case the extra $18,000 is gonna be hard to justify in my opinion. The last factor that personally seals the deal for me is noise and smell. You can't even get near the diesel pump without smelling like a oil refinery. This gets on you when out hunting and you can't get that crap off. They have come a long way on diesel noise but there's no way arohnd that rattle when climbing a little hill into your parking area to hike in. In my part of the world we have to fight with gelling too. So you have to run additive and #1 all winter. This adds so much cost and your mileage advantage is long gone out the door. So I guess I go back to my uncles saying. Here on our farm almost all of our trucks are diesel (Im using the term truck correctly, a real "truck" that has more then 2 axles but that's a whole other story!) all of our tractors are diesel, and if I had a train I'm guaranteeing that'd be diesel too, but I doubt I'll ever own a diesel pickup. -
Up here in the prairie they say it takes 10% nest success to keep a stable pheasant population. In some of the heavy predated areas they only get 1-2%. It just blows my mind that with the little ground cover down there in the pines they can even get off a hatch let alone run those little buggers around for 2 months until they can fly with all the hawks, owls, bobcats, coyotes, fox, and lions running around out there!! Amazing!

I find this so sad that it even has to be asked. No offense to the OP but firearm safety is a personal matter IMO that should be dealt with on a family basis not a govt basis. I shot my first deer with a bow at 7 only because they wouldn't let me rifle hunt. I had taken 8 deer with a bow before the state deemed me fit to rifle hunt! I shot my first pheasant and duck at 5, I was safer at that time then most of these cargo pant wearing AR toting jack arses you see at the range these days. Same as any parenting topic, it boils down to one question. Are your mom and dad deadbeat losers or not?

Maybe it's your attitude. Very nice pic and awesome first bull!!

I can't believe those things can avoid predators long enough to grow up.
