This is so awesome!! I think my home state has a maximum gauge limit of 10 for some reason. I didn’t think anyone would ever take an 8 gauge out anyhow!! Awesome!

You’re gonna run into the same problem I did with trying to make my identical gun a true long range rifle. The magazine on these is pretty short. I had mine rebarreled, pillar and glass bedded, trigger redone, the only problem is the only ammo that fits in the mag is pretty short stuff. Finally gave up and have it loaded with swift A frame 175’s and use it for big stuff like buffalo, musk ox and will probably shoot a brown bear with it. It was greased lightning with 150gr swift sciroccos back when that was considered a LR bullet. Killed an absolute dump truck load of critters with it, but even those have a poor BC compared to newer bullets and just don’t hold great groups past 500-600. That gun shoots better at 100 yards then all three of my proof barreled, carbon stocked high end custom rifles but with those bullets it opens up bad after 500. Something about bonded bullets oscillating I think but I don’t know for sure.

That was a good call.

Very good deal. My dad bought me one exactly like it but right handed for my 12th birthday. It’s killed in the triple digits of big game animals. Great rifles. They’ve got some collector value to them as well. It would bring around a grand on gunbroker I would bet.

Whoa. I want this but I’m 5 states away.

I think they were just making a donation and hoping for a distant chance at winning something. I don’t think those types of things are calculated as a realistic chance at anything other then a feel good donation, atleast that’s the way I look at em.

I can assure you he wasn’t supposed to go to Russia. I went on a few trips out of country when I was in the army and it was a pain getting the OK. They actually wouldn’t let me go to Nicaragua at one point.

How does the FOV with them being only 50mm compare? Do they make an angled bracket? If someone made angled 20’s or something in that range I’d be all over em. I absolutely love my BTX for that reason. I’ll switch back and forth from it to my 15’s to give me neck a rest from the straight binos. I could truly sit all day and not move looking through my BTX’s. They just fit. Love em!

I think it was a raffle or gov tag if I’m not mistaken. He always seems to have all the cool tags like that.

Will that thing spin the 156’s OK? How does it shoot?

Swarovski 10x42 EL Range TA. These are the latest with the right side button and the ballistics software. They have an outdoorsman stud added as well. New these would be $4125 before tax. Used for one year. Includes unfilled warranty card. Some very faint swirls on lenses but no scratches and they are optically sound. $2900 shipped. Insurance and PayPal fees extra if needed.

TTT. $2900. -
I’ve got one of these. They’re super light. I swapped the head out with the little Tricer head and the whole thing weighs like 22 oz.

I just saw this. I approve of the first sentence but the second sentence makes me uneasy. -
I’ve got a beta chrony sitting around. They’re real close to useless to me after using a labradar and a Garmin. Seemed like they were finicky as heck to have the lighting just right.

Pointing dog hunting range

I don’t have much use for pointers as I’m in pheasant country, and like Casey, my pup stays within 15-25 yards. -

Quail are 1000x better than pheasants. Big smelly ugly invasive birds. My dog loves to chase em or I’d only shoot them out the window of the pickup. I’ve never understood people who travel all the way to the Dakotas in the fall to shoot 3 roosters and be done for the day. That being said, I was raised here and they are what I’m used to. Some people probably think I’m crazy for traveling to chase elk! -

My little lab puts in 100% effort on the pheasants and partridge year round up here in ND. She gets a 2 mile hike every day, the same stuff I walk when I’m pheasant hunting in the fall. Pheasants have her figured out and just sneak out before she gets there now. Need a new crop of dumb ones as we killed all the dumb ones last fall/winter. You can’t tell someone they can’t walk a dog on a place where they can legally walk a dog and you can’t tell a dog not to get birdy and flush a bird. -
Interesting and probably true. I’ve built loads around a 5 shot group that was .4 moa only to shoot it a month later and it’s 1.1 moa so I do agree with what they’re saying. I build all my loads based on ES of velocity. That’s the one they left out that REALLY matters. A 1 moa rifle with an ES of 7 fps is much much better at 1000 yards then a 0.25 moa rifle with an ES of 30 fps.
