If youre looking for good draw odds just go to Wyoming. Its a short drive and nearly if not certainly guaranteed tags. Save your AZ points and shoot a giant someday.

That was the most ridiculous video I have ever watched. I am now dumber for watching it. -

+1. I shot an elk through the spine of the shoulder blade and it went clear through and stopped at the fletching. -

Its physically impossible for a rage not to open. Even if it did a well placed rage with the blades welded shut will kill a deer in seconds. I work in customer service as well and sometimes its easier just to offer a refund and avoid an argument and bad PR. -
I really like the 17 hornet just because I have a hard on for hornets for some reason (my first centerfire as a kid was a 77/22 hornet). That being said the WSM is close ballistically and being a rimfire it is cheaper to buy ammo for by far so if I had to pick one it would be that one. I love the HMR and Mach 2 but they really arent any cheaper ammo wise then the WSM and they dont have the knock down power the WSM does. Theyre my favorite for little striped gophers and black bird patrol though.

I have a 77/17 in 17 Mach m2, 17 HMR, 17 WSM, and 17 hornet. Its like a golf bag when Im shooting gophers, wedge, iron, wood or driver! Love those guns and they quit making them so they are getting pretty valuable.

Didnt you score that sweet model 43 a year or so back?

^ cool story but they cant write you a ticket for not having a license if you have one. They can only write you for failure to have it on you. Non criminal so its like a parking ticket. Pay it an move on.

So what exactly do you think a poacher is? Do they wear all black and a ski mask and poke around with a sign saying I willfully intend to break game laws? A poacher is anyone who breaks the law. Shooting two turkeys with one tag is poaching. I applaud you for turning yourself in but also believe that this was self induced by trying a little to hard to get two birds out of one flock. You fd up and hopefully learned from it. IF you actually get charged with a felony I would be in your court fighting, but you wont and you werent so Im not gonna worry about that end of the argument.

In order for that to happen theyd need to have some decent way of judging success rates. Voluntary cards sent in the mail doesnt count. If a state truly gives a crap about success rates they do mandatory reporting. heck we were in WA state this summer and I got a $10 fine the other day for not turning in a harvest report for crabbing!!!

I think we can all agree that a bow shot longer then 25 yards or a rifle shot longer then 300 yards without a rangefinder (beyond max point blank range) is not ethical. So that brings us to taking longer shots and using a rangefinder to do it. We are all doing it, this just puts it into one package. I love the idea. If we want to start an argument about whether one should be guessing yardages and not using any ranging technology then thats a whole other thread. I literally will turn around and go home to get my rangefinder if I forget it, not worth risking the loss of an animal over it. I can estimate range as good (or as poor) as anyone but Im not willing to do that and risk wounding an animal.

Looks nice but not sure about adding one to my G20 but I did see a service offered to machine the slide for it for $100. That's a great price for the machining. The model 40 comes ready for an optic. I got the RMR relatively cheap from Midway as the new ones were coming out. Best I can tell, this one is exactly the same, minus the battery being on the bottom. It is kind of a bummer having the battery on the bottom because there is not an on/off switch. So do you have to take it off to replace the battery? Does it return to zero? Im kicking around getting one for a FN 5.7 (which I still have to buy) and am researching which one to get.

Good luck! Keep us updated!

Cool. I didnt even know they made such a creature. Looks like the interpupillary distance goes really close which would be good for a kid or woman that cant make swaros work. These have hoghunter written all over them.

We made a smoker out of the exact same one. Works awesome and will hold about 200# of sausage

I think they go over the bumps as well. I guess if they didnt it gets to gray area really quick (whats the definition of a bump, do they go up or down, etc etc). May be that sci and BC are diff though? Maybe Eli Grimmet will chime in? Im guessing he knows.

This will be illegal here in my home state of ND because we cant have anything electronic attached to the bow but I can tell you if I draw an AZ elk tag this year I will have one! Its a great design and wont cause people over shooting their comfortable distance any more then watching a Cam Hanes video or being a fan boy in Facebook. People that are going to over shoot their distance will do it no matter what. This will atleast allow archers that stay within their comfort zones to be more effective. I dont know how many times Ive drawn on an elk or deer after ranging them and had them move in or out and had to readjust on the fly. I think this will make for instant adjustment and in most ways be a positive thing. Obviously theres the downfalls of having electronics on your bow, (failure etc) but overall its orettt cool.

Need help deciding on a New Mexico Antelope unit
yotebuster replied to Big Browns's topic in Antelope Hunting
Now Im confused. Elk has UW and RO tags. Antelope tags are all RO. -
Good luck. Cold as heck in ND this weekend. Pheasant and archery deer season closed on Sunday so now theres nothing left to do but drink and icefish. Im missing AZ bad right now!

Im guessing you guys are talking about Landowner elk tags? I think this thread was more about draw antelope tags. -

If by late hunt you mean the oct hunts then yes, they are 3 days. I think the NE units are late aug and all the really good units in the SW of the state are first wkd in October for some reason. Maybe trying to let them rut first and then hunt them? Although on my hunt was saw bucks fighting like crazy in early oct. -
Ive always thought that would be the ultimate HAM pistol. I need one I think.

I would cry a little inside if that rig isnt 4wd!!! Thats like having a Stiller action, Swarovski scoped, proof research barreled 30-30!

Thought Id throw up a quick pic of my ND rifle buck from this november. Best buck Ive ever killed and probably will ever kill. I have no idea where this buck came from as I have no sheds or trailcam pics of him and I cant find any one in the whole county who has ever seen this buck. This is really unusual for our area as the deer are fairly visible in this flat country. I thought he was high 150s or low 160s when I shot him but hadnt seen a buck over 140 all season so I didnt study him much when I first spotted him, just knew he was a shooter. I was pleasantly surprised after I snuck in and shot him at 250 yards in a cattail slough. I couldnt believe how long his tines were! Despite being only 16 wide (inside) he ended up grossing 193 3/8. His G2s were nearly 13 and his main beams were over 25.

Smack dab in the center of the state more or less. Ive killed a ton of snow geese in the spring up around Sutton. Big deer in there too if you can get permission! Congrats on your buck!
