What tag did the wife or I draw?12aw late hunt or 3a3c mule deer

I would say the huntfortruth.org is not a source that can be referenced. Google scientific method and read up on what it takes to conduct and publish scientific data. Just saying something because you have a personal belief about it doesnt count. -
I clicked on this expecting another back and forth about the ethics of Long range shooting. I left very impressed and in a much better mood! Incredible work as usual! The dichotomy of that bottom picture with the dry parched earth and the monsoon behind it is incredible!!

I sorta want this!! You have anything else cool for sale so I can make it worth having to go to my FFL guys gross home office to pick up more then one gun?

Unreal trip Scott!! I wanna be like you when I grow up!! -
I always get a kick out of how these threads get derailed by the rich guy haters. So what exactly is everyones idea of rich? If they sold governor tags for $10,000 would you still hate on him for buying one? How about $5,000? $1,000? You are more then willing to spend $100 for a draw tag. There are people that cant afford that as well, you would be angry if they were ripping on a pic posted of you and your son after an awesome hunt with a giant bull. I busted my butt and went to college until I was 30 to get a good job. I probably spent about $30k a year on hunts and tags. Mostly just making sure Im in all available draws, but some landowner, and maybe will buy a governor tag someday in the future if the lord blesses me with health enough to keep showing up for work everyday and my business keeps growing. I didnt come from money, I was raised in a 12x60 trailer house, I worked my butt off, not to make money and buy a Porsche, but to have a good living for my family and to have money left over to go on quality hunts. How is that any different then what this guy did (just on a larger scale)? I think its cool as heck he has his son along for the hunt and am grateful for his contribution to AZ wildlife. I can only hope that someday thats my face in one of those pics.

Maybe a bull that spent most of his time on the rez and they had to shoot him when they caught him off the rez? Cant you just shoot him on the Rez and then load him up and take pics somewhere else?

That thing was unreal. I was curious though why they wouldnt have given him a couple more weeks? With the rainfall that thing woulda added 2-4 on every tine wouldnt it?

You are thinking of the Jordan Buck. The 25-20 generates less than 500FT#'s and is actually no longer legal in Wisconsin where the buck was taken. I believe the buck was shot a bunch of times. Still the World Record Typical at over 200" for over 80 years. Lot of story around it. You are right. Just remember reading a story when I was a kid about it and thinking that I should take the 25-20 deer hunting since the world record was killed with it!!!

Cool cartridge. Not a lot of practical use but neat anyhow. I got one from my grandpa, a Winchester model 53. I was gonna try to fill a whitetail tag with it in ND and then got to looking at the velocity of the 86gr bullet and decided it wasnt enough!! I think the hole in the Horn (old world record eastern whitetail) was killed with a 25-20 though!!

I dont know if it is an option in AZ or not, but when my step dad was killed in a car accident a few years back, NM allowed us to transfer his oryx tag to my moms name. She had never hunted big game. My brothers and I all hunted with her and she shot a giant oryx in honor of him. It was a pretty cool thing in the wake of a really crappy time. I think it would be really cool to donate it to hunts for heroes as well.

Wasatch Mountains Utah- Elk? Any CWT Member hunt there
yotebuster replied to Redman's topic in Elk Hunting
I would look hard at getting a guide. Thats a once in a lifetime tag. The dates are pretty favorable but the genetics in those NE units arent what southern Utah and AZ have. Ive never hunted that unit but have hunted NE Utah and you have to look at 50 6pts to find a 330 bull and 150 to find a 350+ bull. Not saying they arent there, just that its gonna take some luck and perseverance to get a giant in there. If youre just looking for a fun DIY hunt and havent killed a 330 bull then you shouldnt have a trouble. If youre hoping for a 380 then youll wanna do a looooot of scouting or hire a guide. Youre probably looking at 50-70 degrees during the day and 25-40 at night in mid sept. I would do exactly what you were talking about and take my bow in there sept 8 or so and be ready to smoke one on rifle opener. Good luck! Awesome tag to have! -

Same link I posted above. Please read. Being skeptical of the liberal agenda and being a baffoon dont have to be one and the same. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/03079457309353796 -

Why do you NEED all copper? Lead kills the condor after it eats your deers remains. When you are drawn for a tag north of the Colorado river you recieve a coupon with your tag for a free box of ammo or 50 all copper/ non lead bullets to reload. That's not a NEED. There has never been a single condor or waterfowl die from ingesting lead fragments or shot. I will be using PRBullets on my 12a hunt. Im a died in the wool research everything I hear pessimist, but Im also a scientist with a degree in zoology. It is a proven fact that ingested lead will kill birds. Keep an open mind and dont disregard things just because you think its the liberals agenda, it makes us all as hunters look bad. We are stewards of all wildlife whether we like it or not. Use copper or haul out your gut pile. Ill stick with copper if there are condors around as its easier. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/03079457309353796 -

Congrats Bob!!! Arent you glad we set you straight on putting 27 late 2nd choice!!!

Cool! That worked out pretty good!! I just ordered a 5200 setup for my mtn goat hunt!
-
I would go AWOL for that tag.
-
I have more confidence in lance killing an animal at 1000 yards then I do with the average hunter at 200 yards.

Ugh. Forgot to get 4b worked into there!! Side note: there are no dink bulls in 4B

Im gonna shoot a forkhorn cows deer (with eyeguards) over bait, from a blind Im gonna leave on NF land to claim my spot, from 1000 yards with a rifle and call it a 6point. Im gonna load it into my gas ford pickup which is without question the best pickup ever made......

8F29EC9F-FC49-4E14-AD75-4E42A1644B18.jpeg FWIW Im pro-Long range hunting if its what you want to do and you do it legally. Im anti 6.5 creedmore though as I think its a homosexual marketing ploy by Hornady. (Not that theres anything wrong with that) Then why, when I offered my 28 nosler to you, did you message me asking to use a 6.5 creed if I had one? Oh crap... I get it now.... that was your "move". Haha!! You are slow to catch on!!
