Understanding Generic Earplugs

What? -
Weird request but I’m flying down to Vegas in early September for a muzzleloader deer hunt. Trying to figure out a way to ship some powder and primers down there since I can’t fly with them. Curious if anyone was in Vegas, maybe Caliente, Pioche, somewhere in that country I could mail it to and swing through and grab them from on my way to hunt?
-
Thanks. I’ll PM them in a bit. Thanks!
-
I was thinking I could but the actual UPS Store itself won’t ship guns so I’m guessing they won’t ship haz mat? I’m working that route?

Moose score is really the dumbest scoring system of all of them. That bull that he checked in has awesome paddle width but actually would get killed on score because he doesn’t have a brow fork. That would probably cost him 15-20”. Otherwise that would be a Boone and Crockett bull. The bull I shot had wonky paddles but giant fronts and was just plain bad a ss. I didn’t care one bit.
-
That bottom bull is a smoker! Kinda weird layout so I don’t think he’d score much but most of the bulls I’ve seen come out of those units seem to have kinda funky paddles on them. I’m guessing that’s mostly private land with all this ag fields?

I would definitely buy whatever jrn22 is selling. You’ll just have to wire some money to him in Nigeria and wait on him to release some funds..... in all seriousness, Lance is a good dude and the S&B is as good as they get. -
Wyoming Archery Antelope Semi Live Hunt

Can you start a side thread to this one and just do that on all of Adams pics and repost it? -
I’m guessing it’s a bowhunt. If he’s after a big buck and not just any buck that’s what it could take.

He was only there for a day during my hunt. His guide Brian Meyers was there the whole time and ran the coop. He is a heck of a nice guy. While I was there he helped skin and pack out 4 bison, all killed by non guided hunters.

I’ve killed a pile of critters on my “own ability”, including the mountain goat in my avatar, two shiras moose, 10 bull elk about 50 deer and a dozen buck antelope. I’ve had some excellent hunts with guides and some awesome hunts on my own. If logistics would have allowed it I would have loved to do it on my own. I had ten days away from work. It’s a two day trip one way so that gets me down from 10 days to 6. I weighed the options and a plane ticket and guide was cheaper then gas and time off for me in this case. I read your story and you killed an awesome bull. DIY is obviously much sweeter but in this case it didn’t work for me.

I guess I can’t speak to doing your own thing because I never did. I flew down from ND so I had limited gear and no help (planting season at home so I couldn’t get anyone to come with me) so hiring Russ was the only way I could swing it. I thought he was very fair, the hottest salt was already being sat by non guided hunters and no attempt was made to rotate me into it by them (I wouldn’t have wanted to anyway as I missed opening two days due to family stuff) which I thought was admirable considering I got there late. They killed several bison off that salt. I ended up bumping bison one morning on my way into a salt but beyond that I never layed eyes on one. Met some great people and had a good time though. I drew a WY tag this year so I get another crack at them!

Wyoming Archery Antelope Semi Live Hunt

Good luck!! If the weather is anything like it’s suppsoed to be in ND it’ll be nice and cool for you!! Mid 70’s as far out as the forecast goes! Good antelope weather, not good for growing corn!! -
I hunted with Russ last year and didn’t kill. A majority of the non guided hunters did kill.

The plaque with the score on it is nice.

The problem with taxidermists is they make half of there money without lifting a finger and the other half takes all the work. They like to take as many of those first halves as they can get and worry about the second half later. I’ve had to repo animals from two different taxidermists. One in AZ and one in OK that I made the mistake of sending an antelope with after a NM hunt. I’ll never again use anyone else then my guy in ND or Mogollon in AZ

I hunted a muzzy cow hunt in there a day or two after those tornadoes. Giant swaths of massive ponderosas layed out like match sticks. Uprooted most of them. Root balls were the size of a house. Pretty cool. Glad I wasn’t out there when it hit!

There was a site called rut n hard or something like that where guys were constantly raffling stuff for just plain old profit. Not only is it illegal it got kinda ugly. They would continually extend deadlines because no one would buy tickets etc. What would you do for instance if you only sold 30 tickets? I’m guessing you’d punt on the thing and the guys who got tickets would be hosed. Bad deal if you ask me. Just throw the landowner tag on for sale and count your blessings.

If Mr. Gallo had come on here with an alias username saying he had a strip tag and was thinking of doing a DIY hunt, he would have gotten 86 responses and 85 of them would have been which guide he should hire and how he shouldn’t squander that tag without getting a guide, how big the strip is and how there aren’t giant bucks around every corner. Now for some reason he gets flamed for hiring a guide....

My dad can tear a phone book in half.

Clay Goldman in Payson is the only guy I’d take anything to. He is an exceptional artist. With taxidermy it seems like they either “got it” or they don’t. I’ve always been amazed at the terrible work people let taxidermists get away with......

Sorry to sidetrack this topic, but can anyone tell me the functional difference of sigs ABS system vs the BDX? BDX is in was cheaper units, is it just a bargain, non name brand version of the same thing? I was really hoping sig would come out with a bino that does the same thing as the 2400abs but the 3000bdx seems limited in function. Any ideas? How about the new Zeiss binos? Are the similar to the 2400 abs in function but in a bino version? Not looking for pre fab ballistic curves but rather exact real time data like AB system gives.
-
I dunno anything about the G7 but love my 2400abs. So much faster then my Leica on the ranging end, and obviously the ballistics calculator is a whole new ballgame. I personllay picked it over the g7 due to one hand use and a vertical handhold over horizontal. Had an old bushnell years ago that was horizontal and it was a pain in the butt.
