    Moosings - Idaho - 2019

Are they on the CWD list for no interstate transfer?!? I hadn’t even thought of that. I’m guessing my dad will euro it as well so I might take you up on that info. What town was he in?

    Moosings - Idaho - 2019

Awesome mount!! How’s the meat? My dad drew the same hunt I had a few years back this year. Neighboring unit to yours! Fired up to get back there!!!

    Raffle bull

He spent $25 to get the tag.
  4. Swarovision 12x50’s with outdoorsman stud installed. No box or caps or case. I kept them in a chest case and am keeping that. Optically excellent. Only blemish is the housing was bumped on the edge (see pic). Does not affect the lens or the field of view in any way. Priced accordingly. $1750 shipped. PayPal gift or check that clears before shipping only.

Where are all the scouting pictures of velvet bulls????

The fronts on that last one make me chub up a bit.
  6. Swarovski 8.5x42 EL’s. Outdoorsmans stud installed. Awesome binos, the 8.5’s don’t get the respect they should. Only reason I’m selling is I got a set of Zeiss RF binos. $1300 shipped. PayPal gift or check cleared before shipping.

    Swarovski 8.5x42 EL’s $1300 shipped

Just got them a day ago! Bought them on here. They look great so far. Ergonomics seems so much better then the geovid or swaro range. Ranges are as fast as sig and so is the dope number.

    Swarovski 8.5x42 EL’s $1300 shipped

79 is the first two. I think that makes them a 2009 model.

No trades unless you have a pair of 12x NL pures.

ISO WTB 17 HORNET, 17 REMINGTON OR FIREBALL

If you ever sell that model seven let me know I’ll buy it. I have one and my brother does, the only two I’ve ever seen!! Love that rifle. I killed hundreds of coyotes and fox with it here in ND. Even a couple whitetails!! Don’t shoot it much anymore but that was my ride or die truck rifle all through middle school high school and college.

    Arizona pronghorn rut/archery

The antelope rut is about a month earlier in AZ then it is in WY and MT. Antelope in AZ fawn in April and early May while antelope in the northern climates fawn in late late May through June.
  14. Awesome gun. I killed my first elk with a .54 caliber renegade with a green mountain 1:66 twist round ball barrel.
  15. Yes I agree with the above. My Johnston ultimate with that load and the muzzle break on it kicks about like my 7mm STW without a muzzle break. I would say with no muzzle break it would be about like a .338 lapua without a break. Brutal for sure. The muzzle break on the Johnston isn’t designed very well. Just a bunch of holes in a circle. My bad to the bone sabotless muzzy shoots way more powder and just lays there when you touch it off but the muzzle break is a big old side port rig so that makes a huge difference.
  16. If it doesn’t have a muzzle break you might wanna get one. It’ll knock the sh1t out of you if not.
  17. CCI LRM. Parker black max 300gr over 109gr BH209 by weight. Maybe start at 105 and work up but that’s a sweet spot for my Johnston Ultimate with the Arrowhead plug.

NM 23/24 ELK Honey Hole , no joke

Used to be almost guaranteed but it’s gotten popular over the 5-7 years. All the odds have gone to heck I guess.

    Muzzy bullets for elk

When you get it all dialed in, I would replicate a hunting scenario, shoot it and then leave it how you would prior to the hunt (clean or one patch clean however you are doing that). Load it up a day or two later and then take it out and shoot it about 3-4 days later when you get a chance. This is where I’ve found BH209 to shine. The water based powders to great at the range when you have a system of shot, patch swab, shot or even shot shot shot but when left to stand for a few days the residue in the bore changes and it’ll make your POI change when it actually comes down to it. If you can get your gun to shoot well on a truly cleaned barrel that’s the best as that eliminates the residue issue. My problem is I always find they shoot best on a single patch swabbed barrel or even a dirty barrel for a few shots.

    Lucky tag holders new rifle?

Haha. No tension. It’s a badass rifle, I’ve never been around a 264 with 156’s but I’m guessing they have to be about 6” long!!! Just was curious and seriously probably should have sent question through a PM. I did see them mentioned but wanted to clarify before I forwarded it to my brother.

    Lucky tag holders new rifle?

I suppose you’re right. My brother might be interested in it and it seems like it would be a bad idea to spend $3500 on a rifle without making sure it would shoot the bullets he wants to shoot out of it though. Guess I should’ve PM’d it.

    Lucky tag holders new rifle?

I guess it says that 264’s with 156’s have good ballistics. Didn’t know if this rifle is throated, twisted and has magazine length for them.

    Lucky tag holders new rifle?

Is this gun set up to shoot the 156’s?

I would say AZ is the least necessary place, but still very necessary. I killed a couple antelope in 19a and that checkboard mess, wouldn’t have wanted to do that hunt without it. I also killed some pigs in 21 that were real close to private that I had to skirt around. Came in handy there. In NM it’s an absolute must have. Those ranchers will just shoot you if they catch you on their ground.

How bout some pics of this buck!! I dunno why but I have a fetish for killing stuff on the edge of places I can hunt. It scares a lot of people away to hunt small public tracts, edges of NF, checkerboard etc. I like the extra work it takes in the preseason and love the satisfaction I get from it!! I rattled an eastern whitetail in from 1000 yards out on a refuge here in ND. The second he hopped the boundary fence I planted him in his tracks.
