    Bull Elk Tag Transfer

Take priority on the deer tag. The draw odds on that elk tag are like 40% with just loyalty and hunter Ed points and nearly guaranteed every other year or every third year. I would hunt the weekends only for the elk tag and put all my eggs in the late kaibab deer tag basket. You can kill raghorns on a lot of hunts nearly every year, but a chance at a 190+ muley only comes around a few times in your whole life so make the most of it. I would also focus my scouting on the deer hunt. That late archery elk tag will be tough to scout for anyhow. It’ll be tough for just about anything to be honest. Pretend you don’t have it or if you’re that worried about the points, turn it back so someone else can hunt it. Using your ten day’s off you can hunt essentially the whole season of the late kaibab. If they auctioned that tag off like they do in UT that would be a $40,000 deer tag. Your late 10 archery hunt wouldn’t bring much in comparison.

    Hit the lottery

You had 13 resident points and had 13a archery and didn’t draw? I was hoping I could sneak a max tag with 11 but didn’t. Would have guessed 13 would get you one though.
  3. I don’t think there’s anything “pet” about any load for those guns.

What number is max. bonus points?

I’ve got 13 javelina points 😉 4-5 years ago my mom decided to have everyone down to AZ for a family gathering in February and I had 10-11 and we put in as a group last minute with my brothers (who are leeches for points and won’t put in even when I remind them) so we averaged out to like 2 points and drew the tag we wanted so we could hunt. Ended up being a great hunt. I foresee that in the future again and want to make sure we have enough points to guarantee a tag where and when we want it as a group.

Only 1 hour until cards start getting hit

Awesome. The best part is you get to go buffalo hunting! It’s different then anything you’ve done. By the time you’re done with the hunt you’ll love it or hate it but you can atleast say you’ve done it!

I think most of those fall cow hunts are fairly easy to draw. With a point or two they are guaranteed if I’m not mistaken.

NM 23/24 ELK Honey Hole , no joke

He actually isn’t. You can hunt whatever you want on public ground every year if you can afford it. In NM for instance unit wide landowner tags are available as he stated. So for $2500-$20,000 you can circumvent the draw and go hunt public every year.

    Speed goat Wyoming

Curious how that goes for you! I tried for the muzzy tag in 107 with 3 points and for turned down. I drew 61 a few years back with 9 or 10 points and know I’ll never catch it again but am ok with that. I think a guy can find a good buck in some of those fringe units. Good luck with the tag and post back here on how you do!

    Ramblin ram near Tucson

Better pray there are no 4H sheep or pet goats along the way. Here in ND they kill any ram that gets outside a 20 mile buffer zone around the sheep herds.

    Need Advice Muzzleloader trouble shooting

If that doesn’t work I’ll look around, we used to have a deal that went on the nipple with a CO2 cartridge on it designed to unload a rifle. Just stick it on the nipple and a shot of CO2 blasts the ball out. Might work.

So the ferrule with the cleaning jag pulled off in there? Glue is risky as you’ll likely get some in the barrel. They make those bullet pullers that screw into a lead ball, you might be able to get that to bite?

Good point. It’s actually one of the hardest to get out of. Short of dying there’s no way out of them unless you do income based and just don’t make any money, which would be the case if he got a professional degree but then couldn’t get a license to practice. I’m guessing he’s gonna be a dental mangenist, or maybe a surgical mansistant for a surgeon.

Seriously though Blake, make sure you check with the state board for medicine, optometry, or dentists before you go invest a bunch of money into an education because you will need to get some type of exception from the board to get a license with a felony on your record, whether it gets downgraded or not. The only thing tougher then trying to pay off a $500,000 professional school education is doing it when you can’t practice legally. It’ll come up in your application to school as well. It won’t ask if you’re a felon, it’ll ask if you have ever been “accused or convicted of a felony”. You’ll have to answer “yes” and then you’ll have to explain. So good luck with it.

Well on my dental license application it said “have you ever been convicted of a felony” not “do you have a felony on your record”. I’m guessing he’s far too stupid to get into any type of professional school so he won’t have to worry about it, but there’s no way in heck he’d ever get any type of medical license even if it is downgraded. I’m sure he’s gonna be a nurses aid or something like that and wipe asses for a living which I guess is cool if you think it’s worth it in exchange for poaching a few deer.

While I think it should have been harsher, as far as I understand it here is the punishment: -10 years lost hunting privileges (this is all states btw, atleast those worth hunting) -$18,000 in fines - he lost his job - this is the big one. He is now a convicted felon. This one I think people are underestimating, including noballs350. This will likely cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars in the long run, banks most of the time won’t lend or if they do it’ll be at a higher rate, the job market is exceptionally small for convicted felons. He can never be in possession of a gun for the rest of his life which effectively eliminates all hunting but bowhunting for him. He likely will not be able to travel out of country (canada will not let him in). If he ever goes through a divorce it’s extremely likely he’ll lose his kids as judges look heavily down upon felony convictions. This thing is gonna follow him the rest of his life, the biggest being just his reputation around town. I got a minor in possession when in college and I remember feeling like a criminal anywhere I went in town, dumbest thing ever, I was 3 months from turning 21 but it did teach me that the shame of breaking the law, even a stupid law is something I personally have a hard time dealing with. Whether noballs350 is him or his brother, they are compensating hard by coming on here and making light of this. His hunting career is effectively over and he just added about 10 more years onto his working life as retirement is going to be that much harder to achieve as a felon. I wish the fees would atleast pay for all the trophy deer we as citizens lost, but the suffering this guy is gonna feel is gonna last long after this thread dries up.

Want to trade Leopold 4.5-14 for a 6.5-20

I’ve got a 6-24 Nikon monarch I’d swap you. Originally when my dad bought it they were real comparable scopes. I’d throw in $100 on my end as I know Nikon is out of business now.

OnX makes it really clear. Every parcel is labeled. Buy the Bo permit. If you do that hunt right that should be a drop in the bucket compared to what you’ll be spending on gas scouting.
