Would you sell it without the scope? What would you need to get for it if so?

Understandable. I’ve been on the site for 12 years so hopefully that helps a little. I see a lot of ransoms show up on here peddling stuff and I agree on it being questionable. I bought my first pair of old school lime green 15’s back in 2008 from Hoghunter (RIP). -

Over under suggestions??

Not usually. Of course right now everything is hard to find. Usually about $6-8 a box. -

You can always buy lighter loads for a 12. The smaller frame on a 20 is nice to carry but ballistically a 12 is gonna be more versatile. While it’s true you can get 1 1/4 oz 3” 20ga loads if you wanted a heavy pheasant load, a long skinny shot column is not as efficient and won’t put as many pellets on a bird as a shorter fatter shot column. You can get 7/8 oz low recoil 12 loads that would have exact same recoil as a standard 20 load. -
I just put my HD’s up on here. $1850 TYD.

I’ve got some SLC HD’s listed on here for $1850 shipped.

Just remember that the sighting plain on a pump or auto is about 6” longer then it will be on a double. So if you’re used to shooting a 26” pump that would be the same as a 32” double. A 28” similar to a 34” double. Conversely, a 26” double is the same as a 20” pump or auto. I prefer a long sighting plane, even for upland birds. It’s a bit more to carry but worth it in my opinion. My beretta auto I special ordered with 30” barrel. Every double I own has 30” barrels and I feel they’re still too short personally but they’re really hard to find in anything over a 30 anymore. I would look for a good used American or Italian gun before going with a Turkish gun (essentially all the sub $1000 guns made right now are Turkish regardless of what name they wear). Get yourself Red Label, Orion, 101 or silver pigeon. Should be able to find one in that $700-1000 range. -
Good luck. Hopefully he’s still in there and you can turn him up again.

S. Az Duck guide?
yotebuster replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
A guide won’t help you with the missing part. If you’re shooting then you don’t need a guide. Just keep at it, you’ll figure it out. Unless they’ve got good private access a guide will do you no good. Jumping tanks is a fun way to start. It’s just like deer hunting. Glass them up. Sneak up and shoot them. -

It’s fun. I get bored sitting in a blind or tree stand. Try to cover a ton of ground when hunting easterns. Eastern MT has easy to draw tags and some pretty good whitetail hunting. I live on the boarder so I hunt both ND and MT. I forgot to tell you my dad drew the same moose tag I had in Idaho this year and we went in and killed a nice bull. I’ll have to do a little write up. -

Haven’t been able to get back down for a few years. Had a Mexico trip planned for this Jan but held off due to covid. I’ve had covid so it didn’t bother me but a few guys in the group bailed. Saving my AZ points for mule deer right now though. 15’s are deadly for plains whitetails and breaks muleys up here though. I’ve picked up rutting easterns moving across a CRP field where you can only see their rack 3-4 miles out on frosty mornings. The one area I hunt the only vantage point is an overpass on I-94!! -
How’d I miss this thread?!? Good luck. Keep the updates coming. Can you take horses on the refuge?
-
Yes. You click the NR box but the way the lady explained it to me was the draw sorts you into the resident draw pool based on your hunting license number which starts with “LH”. I drew an elk tag once that statistically shoulda been impossible to draw as a NR with it so it must work.

I guess I woulda felt like an asshat for not wearing a mask, apologized and gone back out and got one. I would say writing an entire thread titled “F New Mexico” about it could warrant said chill pill.
-
The lady that was working there maybe was primary caretaker of her 90 year old grandmother? So yeah, F her and her grandma. If she wasn’t then some one she knows or you know probably is as well. So F them and their grandma too.
-
Agreed. It was in the 70’s here last weekend (our opener) then dropped to 6 this am after that big wind. It’ll change for sure. How are the bird numbers looking down there?
-
Awesome post!! Keep it coming!! 6 degrees and humid in ND this am. I’ve got thur-Monday off to try to smack one on our farm.
-
Just ordered a set of 8’s and 12’s. Probably won’t get them till after things are pretty well over here in ND.
-
I have a .28 nosler that is consider selling as I’d like to redarrel it with a shorter barrel for a suppressor. Wouldn’t be able to do it till December though.

Field & Stream and Outdoor Life Maybe No longer
yotebuster replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in The Campfire
While I do have the same good memories as you guys from the 80’s and 90’s reading them, they have nosedived as far as quality as of the last decade. I still get them for my office waiting room (Pre covid of course!) and would page through them occasionally. The gear reviews have turned to bias garbage and the articles themselves are so watered down they just weren’t worth the effort. It’s sad to see but it’s the way of the world. Unfortunately the Instagram hero’s are taking the place of the Boddingtons and Zumbos. Honestly not all bad as you can pick who you want to follow these days instead of being forced to follow those ignorant boneheads. The older I get the less I care for any of them whether they’re digital or on paper I guess. I’d much rather hear and learn from regular guys in a forum like this I guess. -
Congrats!!! Awesome bison! Sounds like it all worked out as planned!
