Bdrew, I think the preloaded topo is 24K. I have GPS hunt maps with land ownership overlaid onto mine in all states that I hunt, so I'm not even sure what the base maps look like to be honest

Cabelas has the 450T on sale this week for $279. Smokin deal. Bdrew, the screen can be tough to read in indirect sunlight. It's good with the backlight on, or in direct sunlight, it's when it's in the in between that's not the best. That would be my only complaint on it. That and it eats batteries for breakfast!

where's Lark????

I'll buy it from ya. You have to come with while I hunt, and hold the gun right up until I shoot, then hand me the gun. Then gut it for me and say that you shot it until I get it home. If it's a unit 9 early rifle tag I'm willing to pay more.

No way that's a yote! You guys have for me scared to take my lab and sheppard out shed hunting now! I'd hate for one of you tO think it's a "nice primed up coyote!"

+1 on the safety slides, while the do help with bounce backs, the original reason was to keep the string out in front of your bow so that you don't get it wrapped around your cable guard, cam, or worse yet your arm. When I first started bowfishing they didn't have these and it was always a goat rodeo trying to make sure it's clear. They first saftey slides were a cable from end to end on the arrow with a swivel that ran then legnth. Then new ones that are plastic without the cable are awesome and easy to use. I prefer a big spin cast reel to the bottle ones as the bottle ones dont have enough friction to reel fish in, also I like the little rod that sticks out of the reel seat as it is sometimes helpful for yanking a missed shot out of the muck or the weeds. I use a separate by just because I don't like the idea of having to switch over all of my gear each time. Also, I shoot fingers as well, it's way faster.

@ Coach. Those boxes are freakin awesome!!! You should start selling them on here!

I've had my 450T for 2.5 seasons now and beat the heck out of it, and I've never had a problem with it. It's so easy to use, I find that I name my waypoints much more often with it then with my 60 because it has a full keyboard and takes just seconds to name a waypoint instead of scrolling through each letter. The resolution is way better and the screen is much larger then the 60 series as well. I was really worried about the durability of the touch screen, but am sold on it now. If you think about it, IPhones ride around in your pocket all day everyday and the screens keep working, and I feel that the Oregon screen is built even tougher then those.

Lag bolt through the lock box, with a python around that, and a guarded shackle lock on the lock box. Haven't lost one yet. I know it's bending the rules a bit with the bolt but if it saves me cams I'm ok with it.

Oregon 450t! Touch screen is amazing, I'd never go back to a 60 series. The "t" means it's preloaded with topo for the entire us. Don't get the 550 or 550t IMO. The only difference is $100 and it has a digital camera which is worthless to me. I looked at upgrading to a Montana, but they are HUGE! They won't fit in a pocket and that equals getting lost in my world!

Find as many big bucks as you can, after the bow hunts. Monitor them through the muzzleloader hunts, and if you're really lucky there'll be one left for you by the time your hunt comes around. Put him to bed the night before and shoot him opening morning. Tons of antelope up there, most of the private is mixed with state land so you have a good chance of getting one to step on the right ground as long as he's still alive when opening day gets there. I'm convinced they attempt kill every single 3 year old buck in there annually. The genetics are incredible and the 3 year olds will be 75-80", there are always a couple that make it through as three year olds, and will be four this year and they will be really nice. Unfortunately the muzzleloader hunters will probably pop them if the bowhunters don't get them first. You've got an awesome tag but you're gonna have to have a big list of potential bucks and hope there are still a couple left when opening day comes.

There's a Ruger 6mm in cabelas in the gun library for $400 or $450, can't quite remember, it has a scope on it as well but I don't remember the brand, was a decent scope if I remember though.

Any idea when Utah normally hits CC's? Haven't seen anything yet, but that doesn't mean much! On another note, I got shot down for all things furry in Montana, 7 BP's for elk and deer there now, 8 in Utah.

I don't understand the point of moveable sights if they have multiple pins? I can understand the advantage of having a single pin to keep a focused uncluttered view, however after watching my brother set his HHA for 40 yards and having an antelope charge in to 15 yards to the decoy about ten years ago I will never use one! He tried to aim low and shot under him, then the goat ran out to 25 yards and stopped again, so he held a little higher not wanting to stop and adjust his sight for fear the goat would run away, and then shot over him, finally the goat stopped at 50 yards and he held a little high again and missed him again! It wasn't all that funny at the time, but I'll NEVER touch a single pin sight after seeing that!

I've noticed growth on them into September, I had a ton of pics of a big buck in 19A a few years back and he definitely added an inch to inch and a half on length and a lot of mass from when I found him in mid July to my hunt in mid/late August. If it's a big buck now, it's gonna be a really nice one come this fall, look at prong length and top mass right now, the rest will come and those two will get even better with time.

late hunts are easy to draw but LOW success rate, early hunts are roughly 5-10 times harder to draw and have much higher success rates. Ever tried fall turkey hunting? Late elk hunts are kinda like that!

awww, you're gonna chop shop a Classic sporter? They're the last quality well crafted gun to be made. My dad bought me one for my 12th birthday in 7mm STW, except the bolts on the other side on mine! Mine's killed 34 deer, 2 elk, 2 antelope, 1 moose and 2 oryx. It still shoots SUB moa with 150gr Scirrocco's cranking out at 3400. Good luck with the build!!!

sweet deal!!!! looks like a CRF too!

I don't think it is, but it sorta looks like this buck!? http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=32169

Doesn't happen! it does...the odds are really terrible...but it can happen. Must have put in by himself? NO, it truly doesn't.... Last year there were 535 applicants in 1st and 2nd choice for 75 tags. Unless this year 455 less people put in for that tag, there were NO 3B rut archery tags left after 1st and second pass. Thus the only way you could have drawn it is if you got your hunt codes mixed around and put it as 2nd choice. You don't have a slim chance, or even a snowballs chance in heck, you have NO chance of drawing that tag on 3rd choice.
