Well you asked. So I will try to be as kind as possible. I really don't care if others use their money to start the fire in camp. I just find it amusing when they try and convince others it is the best, and most common sense approach to get it done. ROFLMAO. I can't wait to hear all the BS about the ones that a short time ago were absolutely the best money could buy, and if ya didn't have them ya weren't going to be able to spot game. But now will become unworthy to carry to the mountain. I'll stick with my Kiababs . After all I noticed that while glassing elk for my grandson and his dad. That I was able to spot elk in the morning before they were able to see them through their rifle scopes!!! Does everyone think they need to buy > than 3000 dollar scopes. Or do ya just flat think it may have been well before legal shooting time???? :o When do ya all high rollers think good becomes good enough?? Take care, Willie Jealous much? If you don't want to buy expensive optics then don't. No need to hate the guys that do buy them. I have never made it a habit of being jealous of f_ _ _ s. Do you also have your order in? And feel the need to use jealousy and hate as the order of the day to justify a purchase.. And also I have never had a problem buying the best available product for the money. But refuse to allow some one to smear mayonnaise and glitter (BS ) over something . And talk me out of hard earned money for something that accomplishes the same thing as another product does for less. This being said if your tax bracket affords you the luxury to drive down highways flinging hundred dollar bills out the window. Fire away just don't expect those that think better to jump at the opportunity to join in. Take care, Willie One could argue that you were did the same thing when buying your kaibabs. After all you did spend $1100 dollars for a pair of binos. When you could've gotten a $59 pair of tascos that as you said "accomplishes the same thing for less"? Just food for thought. Speaking of food, I'm betting you've never let someone "talk you out of your hard earned money" for a steak because you can get a hamburger that "accomplishes the same thing for less".

I'd be real interested in the Montana if it didn't have the brake on it. Is it removable? -
Foxpro vs. Primos Alpha Dogg ?
yotebuster replied to derbiv's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I have a foxpro FX3 I'd be willing to sell, I dunno what it's worth, paid $400 for it a few years ago and I've only used it a time or two. -
Do you mean the woolhouse quiet area in 3B south? Can't find any info on whole horse reserve. I'm really interested in the 3B north hunt.

Mathews blows up Again 2nd time this year
yotebuster replied to azcoueshuntr's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I think you guys are confusing spine with weight. If he's shooting a 400 SPINE bloodline at 28.5" x 7.7 grains per inch, that's 219.5 grains of arrow. Depending on vanes and insert and broadheads weight I'm guessing they are lighter then 400 grains. Probably still not out of line though -
I realize the terrain is different down there, but my uncle used to be a gunner for the state trapper in SD. Their personal best day was 162 coyotes. I know it's incredibly effective but no doubt expensive.
-
Trapping is more effective the aerial gunning?!? I don't believe that for a second.

Good to hear! I'm always skeptical of quick turn around times as I worry guys do the garage tanning method! That mount looks great!
-
That's quick turnaround! Does he do the tanning himself??
-
Not to great! I kept all the meat but ended up making sausage and jerky out of it after trying the back straps. They're tiny animals, so there wasn't much meat, maybe 10-15 pounds after it was boned out.
-
I gotta give all the credit on the mount to Killanjaro! He does OUTSTANDING work!
-
I've got one of those things! They're scaaaary awesome!!

Whatever happened to 19B? They shut it down that year and then cut the tags to almost nothing, seems like it should be crawling with giants now? The genetics in the 19's is off the hook, they just shoot every 3 year old buck in there every single year, so it seems to me if they got a bit of time to grow that would be the place to be? I know the big chino shut down hunting, but I know if I was sitting on that many points I'd look long and hard a 19B and see if you could secure access to the Big Chino even if you had to pay a little bit to do so, there's gotta be some monsters on there now?

12x50 ELs for $2199?!? Those won't last!! -
My dad has a model 100 in a .284. Similar gun its just the auto version. It LOVES 120gr bullets. Hates anything heavier. It'll hold 5 120grain ballistic tips in 1.5" at 100. It's killed an absolute pile of big ND whitetails. I even took it to Mississippi on a hunt one year and actually piled up 3 does that ran by me on a deer drive, I shot the whole herd and they landed literally on top of each other. I love that caliber!
-
The only game kings I've been around we're small caliber so that's not a good comparison. I've been shooting 150 swift scirrocos out of my 7mm STW with really good performance at all velocities. I've shot game from 60-600 yards and all of them look as they do in the advertisements. I'd look into them if you're making a switch.

They need to start doing a dang harvest survey before they bother with DNA!! I think that'd be a little more useful.

Savage BMAG and 17 WSM
yotebuster replied to kazpilot25's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I was on a wait list to get one. That is until I shot one. They feel like a plastic toy BB gun. I thought it was to good to be true at the price they are advertised. Well it is. They are cheaply built and poorly put together. The one my buddy has shoots OK but nothing like it has potential to (2 1/2"@100 yd). I like the cartridge but will definitely be waiting for a different brand to come out. -
