Buy an outdoorsman male and femal adapter. Put one on your tripod, one on the window clamp and then the opposite side on your head. The. You can pop it on and off your tripod and window mount and only need one head.

Good deal. Let me know if it falls through.

10-4! Do they still use silos much in the valley? In ND they use poly bags that are about 10ft in diameter and 200-300 ft long. Or just pile it up and let the edges spoil.
-
Good point. I didn't even think about that. They wouldn't be silos. Feeding silage to green cattle in a pasture like that would kill them. Not to mention the headache of hauling it up from the valley. I've seen trick tanks that had catchments above them with inverted cone roofs to catch rain water. That's my guess. Definitely not a silo.

I've got one of those. It's undoubtedly the best. I bought if for a Wyoming antelope hunt and ended up not drawing. My sister in law took it on her wyoming elk hunt but didn't get a chance to shoot anything with it. I mostly just screw around with it. I have a 2-10 scope on it and an HHA adjustable base. I can keep it on a paper plate to 125 real easily.

SOLD-SOLDBrowning shotgun for sale-SOLD-SOLD
yotebuster replied to Shooter McGavin's topic in Classified Ads
My brother had one and it would shoot low brass 1 1/8 as longs as they had high dram. Like super handicap AA's. I had a beretta 303 and it would shoot almost everything but they got better with use. -
SOLD-SOLDBrowning shotgun for sale-SOLD-SOLD
yotebuster replied to Shooter McGavin's topic in Classified Ads
It'll shoot 2 3/4". They just don't cycle the super light dove loads very well. Good guns. Made by beretta, I think it's a 301 or 303. Don't remember exactly. The only browning I'd ever own, (since its actually a beretta!) -
I've got a 3BN tag. Wish I had the whole thing!

That's the biggest bull in the San Juan forest!

The seeds from the 50's barely resembled the seeds from the 1900's. The seeds from the 1900's barely resemble the seeds from the 1800's. Life spans of today are longer then the 50's, which are longer then the 1900's which were longer then the 1800's. Some people don't realize how good we have it in this modern world. If you've got so little to be worried about (ie starvation) in your life that you need to worry about the way your wheat was bred then you've got it pretty good. Also, just to remind you, gluten is in wheat. Wheat is not genitically modified.

Wanted, 200gr .30 cal accubonds
yotebuster replied to yotebuster's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Yep! Old Buck sent us a few and then we went on this website and ordered a bunch more so we're good to go! Thanks again! -
Anyone out there willing to sell a few 200 gr accubonds? My dad has an elk hunt coming up and shot his way down to only 12 left. Even if someone has 15-20 they could spare, load development is done, just need some for the hunt. We have some 190gr .30 cal accubonds we would be willing trade, or even some .22LR ammo! Thanks!

*Monster Goat in the Dirt* 2014 Antelope Hunt
yotebuster replied to Flatlander's topic in Antelope Hunting
What powder? -
Dang. If it had a longer barrel I'd buy it!

I disagree on this. The think I noticed when I hunted that unit was the age structure was very young. I've heard people say that antelope peak at 3-4 years and I believe this, the problem is there are very few 3 y/o bucks in there and the bow hunters mop em all up. There's a ton of 7-10" goats that I assume are yearlings, they get left alone, then a ton of 70-78" goats that looked to me like 2 year olds that I think are what the rifle hunters have left, and a few 3 and 4 year olds. These were the 80"+ bucks that everyone targeted and most of them got shot in bow season, and what was left the muzzy hunters got. I think a few 2 year olds slip through, and those will be the nice ones everyone will target next year, and the yearlings that no one paid attention to this year will be next years standard mid 70's bucks again. I may be wrong on all of this but that's the way it seemed to me.

I know the year I had the 19a first archery the big one we were all chasing (86 6/8) made it to the last couple days of muzzleloader season and got popped. I'd be REAL surprised if any if the rifle hunters killed anything over 75" as there just weren't any left. I'd take a 1st season archery tag in 19a over a 19a rifle tag anyday!

I know I wouldn't want a firearm hunt in 19a this year, or most years for that matter, the bowhunters mop em up pretty good in there every year!

Experiences with a .338 win mag / Suggestions for wet weather?
yotebuster replied to kidso's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
300 win mag Bullet weight/type Velocity Energy 220 gr (14.3 g) Sierra MatchKing (HPBT) 2,850 ft/s (870 m/s) 3,908 ft·lbf (5,299 J) 338 win mag Bullet weight/type Velocity Energy 225 gr (15 g) SP 2,800 ft/s (850 m/s) 3,918 ft·lbf (5,312 J) I would keep the 300 win mag that you're familiar with and load it with a QUALITY 220gr bullet. Absolutely apples to apples. Unless you're looking for an excuse to buy a new rifle as I would be! But it sounds like you're interested in keeping it simple. There's nothing you can do with a 338 you can't do with a 300. As a matter if fact the 300 will do it better. If you were talking extreme long range then a 338 would be a better choice with a 300 gr bullet but in this case in guessing you will keep your shots under 200 yds. Just a thought.- 27 replies

I just wanted to take a minute to publicly thank member Old Buck. It blows me away how many really good people are on this site. I recently put up a wanted ad looking for some 200gr 30 cal accubonds. Many of you guys know the frustration of finding and working up a load and then not being able to find the components you need to load some for the hunt, well that happened to my dad. He's got a Utah rifle LE bull hunt right around the corner and Old Buck sent us some bullets the same day free of charge! He even took them down to the post office and covered the shipping! It blows me away how good of a guy it takes to do something like that for a complete stranger! My dad got his bullets in the mail today and was pumped to crank em out for his hunt. Thanks again Old Buck and thanks CWT for being the best site on the web!

Found ANOTHER gun! And a gold ring!
yotebuster replied to My Rights As An American's topic in Lost and Found
Makes ya wonder why the lawyer was taking off his wedding ring in the first place! I'm guessing he isn't the classiest character out there so I wouldn't feel bad! -
30-06 accelerators! I remember how pumped I was when those came out. I didn't even have a 30-06. Epic fail.

I would strongly consider trying to get muzzy tag in 1 or 27 when they come around. People shy away from them slightly, but IMO a muzzlaoder is just as good as a center fire in those units, especially unit 1. Most of your shots are gonna Be in the timber or meadows and probably 200 yds or less. I don't have first hand knowledge on 9 or 10 but it sure seems like the bulls in those units have been decreasing in size as of late? I think your points would land you a unit 1 muzzy tag next year, and if I remember right there should be one.

They're going on the front of a 30-378 wby. So it's a pretty big 30! I'd love to try some 210 LR Accubonds someday but that's kind of a pipe dream these days! We're jus greatful to have something to kill an elk with now!!' -
