Youtube video show guy shoot turkey in 13b with .597 22wmr
yotebuster replied to couesdeerhntr's topic in Turkeys!
In SD you can shoot spring turkey with a rifle. We sat on a hill above a big flock in a field one year and dumped 3 or 4 big toms with my dads #1 .220 swift before they fisnlly left. They were all head shots, you'd shoot one and the others would go nuts attacking it. Shoot another and so on. They're extremely hard to kill with body shots however. -
Listen to Flatlander. ^

Good deal!! I have a model seven in .17 remington. Coolest gun I own. Saved uptodate snow shoveling money in grade school to buy it. It's killed more coyotes, fox, jackrabbits then I can count. Even a couple whitetails! Bump for a sweet set of sevens!

I would recommend to anyone in AZ with a decent amount if points to go to WY and pop your antelope cherry there. If you bail and dump your points on an archery tag you will be able to chase giant goats but will realistically have a chance at a 70" type goat. Those goats are literally everywhere in Wyoming! There is only one state in this country where you have a legitimate chance at a 85"+ goat and you live there! Hold out for a muzzy tag in one if the teen units or a rifle tag in 10 or a single digit unit. Don't burn points on a rifle tag in the teen units, they all die before the season gets there. You are 7-10 years away from the hunt of a lifetime! Take off an extra half day on each end of your hunt, jump in the truck and you'll be in wyoming in 10 hours. Shoot a half dozen 70-77" bucks over the next 7-10 years and you'll be an antelope junky by the time you're ready to draw your az tag!!!

You still have to click the little box that says NR when they ask you. I was concerned they wouldn't sort me back into the resident draw when first applied as a NR so I called them and they told me the computer automatically sorts me into the resident pool because my hunting license starts with " LH" which is a lifetime hunting code. It must work because I drew a tag last year that I would not have drawn as a NR w/o max points!

Good things take time!! Anyone who is getting them done faster then a year is probably self tanning the hides and that is a BAAAAADDDD thing. I don't have a problem waiting 18 months or more as long as it turns out good. There's nothing worse then bad taxidermy! I've only used two taxidermists in AZ, Mogollon and Scottyboy from the site. Both are top notch!!!

That turkey is the best work I've ever seen come out of Double Buck!! To bad it isn't what you wanted. His work has consistently been the ugliest stuff I've seen posted on the forums.

I bought a pair of 15x swaros from mike a few years back. Heck of a nice guy!! Only problem was the dang glasses would only find pigs!?!?
-
Look into one of the 19's for muzzy. All of the good bucks are gone before the rifle hunt starts but you'll have a few really good ones left after the archery hunt. You'll have to scout, work arohnd private land, stalk close with muzzy, sounds like fun to me!!

http://cz-usa.com/product/cz-redhead-premier-12-gauge-28-barrels/ This is the same gun if I'm not mistaken. They changed the finish and the furniture a bit but IMO the Huglu is much nicer and half price!! Sweet deal! -

Bump for a gorgeous gun! I have one in a 16ga sxs. This is the same gun that CZ is now selling under the redhead and ring neck models, except the Huglu models are much nicer!! Someone is gonna get a good deal on this one!! -
Do you still have the scope mounted up on it? What scope is it?
-
How heavy is the barrel on this? Looks well over an inch? I'm in the market for a big 33 but I want something a little lighter to carry I think?
-
Awesome buck! You are correct, you score the typical frame, take any deducts from the typical frame (such as beam length differences, mass, g2 vs g2 etc). Then you add all of the extra point lengths to that number. That gets you a net nontypical score. To score this buck as a typical you would do the same thing, except subtract the 41" of extras. That wouldn't leave you much considering all the extras on this one!!

Does this have the 360 mesh or the little windows?
-
Didn't it open on jan 1?

Some people might disagree with me, but I think the genetics are good all across az. The reason the trophy units are better is age structure not genetics in my opinion. That's a good young bull, the only thing that matters about whether he'll make it next year is if he's lucky enough to dodge the bullets and arrows. If he's in an alternative management plan unit then his odds are just a bit better.

Yeah that's sweet! I kinda want it! Wanna ship it to ND?
-
You poor thing!!!
-
Are gonna try to get one with a bow Rob?
-
Dang! If this was a fireball I'd be all over it!!
-
Awesome film Chase!!! Beautiful footage put together extremely well!
-
Good lord that is terrible! I've seen work by them posted on another forum and people were always saying how nice it looked, I was always blown away because I thought it all looked like crap, to the point where had I done it I certainly wouldn't want it posted on the Internet!!! Good luck getting it fixed but I'd say that's beyond repair!!
-
Better yet, if you get it aired up and get it home, just drive it to the tire shop and have them fix it. They charge a couple dollars more if it's on the vehicle is all. I don't mind changing tires, its getting the dang spare out and back up where it came from!!

they attach to the eye cup. They are made by SwarovskiThey replace the entire twist out. They also make your glasses fog up like crazy IMO. the ones I posted do not replace the twist out parts. If you check them out they have pictures in the link I postedRoger that. Those are different then the ones I had that replaced the whole twist out.who makes them? They should sound worth checking out. I believe they were the swaro ones. Now that I think about it, I think they snapped on, but you had to turn the twist outs all the way out and take off the old eye cup and these snapped on where the twist out was. So they didn't actually twist in where the eyecup went. I think I still have them laying around somewhere, I got them on a used set and hated that I would hot box the eye cup with them when it was cold out and they'd fog the ocular up.
