I hate the wind. I wont even say that word when I'm hunting or working. I'm a painter and the wind can ruin my day trying to mask and spray exteriors. I refer to it as "the W word, or Mariah, but I wont say it out loud. We all have our issues and the W word is one of mine.

Happy Birthday Marines!!! My father spent the last 3years of his 20 serving at the Pentagon in charge of recruiting from 1970, 71, and 72. He was the one responsible for implementing two slogans for the Marines that, as you can see, they still use to this day. "The Few. The Proud. The Marines" and "We're looking for a few good men". Lt. Col. David L. Althoff , ret.

Hey congrats, I can see why you'd shoot him. Very nice.

Recognize that each person under you has their own set of problems in their personal life. You'll soon spot the one's that can't keep the two separate. Mentor the one's you feel you can get through to and get rid of the bullchitters as soon as possible, before they pee in the pool. Watch for "that guy" who comes down with what my old boss called "the Budweiser flu" and leaves you hanging at the worst possible time. You are now a role model-accept that and lead by example without being arrogant. Congrats on the new position and I hope it gives you more time in the woods.

A little late to this one, but I just got a scrapbook form my dad a few days ago and figured I'd share a pic and a" little" of his history. He was part of this group (Lower left front row) that flew helicopters around the Bikini Atoll in 1958 and measured radiation levels around each of the test sites immediately after the explosions took place. He said that when his badge registered full on radiation levels, he would just turn it in and get another one. ( He laughed and thought it was kinda funny) Crazy that he is still around and as full of life . He told me this story while having a beer and a cigar on his back patio Monday afternoon. Yes, I realize how fortunate I am to still have him, at 88, to sit and spend a few hours with. He was also at the 77 day siege of Khe Sahn during the Tet Offensive and was named "The Marine Aviator of the Year for 1968. I know it's not Fathers Day now , but spending that quality time and getting his personal photo album the other day makes me so grateful . ( Sorry about the sideways pic, but I spent over an hour trying to scan and download this thing, grrr)

Huge congratulations on a beauty! It's hard enough to get one that nice with a rifle or compound, but to do it with a recurve, now that's pretty cool.
