bigbuckfever replied to muledeerarea33?'s topic in Prayer Requests
My heart goes out to you. Prayers for both of you. -

Welcome to CWT. If you have already got a bull down you're ahead of some of the experts here. Try going to some of the ranges with your bow. Most of the guys there are hunters and not just target archers. Best of luck.

I know it's been said before, but.... thieves suck

you can show up and pay the fee (I think it was $10) They pay out 50% of fees in prizes.. After shooting, they take all the score cards and turn them over and randomly pair them up. Highest combined score wins $$. They pay 3 highest scores

The Young area is a good place to start. Try near the airstrip. Have fun.

It's awesome when a hunt falls into place like that. Congratulations!

I no longer have these items

The DIY hunter doesn't spend (or have) as much time in the woods as someone like a guide who does this as his profession. In order to check out more than one area for an upcoming hunt, it can be very helpful to put a camera on a trail or funnel or scrape to see what's in that area and if it's worth it to spend your limited amount of time there or if you should try somewhere else. The average DIYer can't spend more than a few weekends scouting for each hunt. My 2 cents.

To be clear, I realize GNF is saying they want to stop the use of cameras for taking wildlife and not for other uses of cameras. Don't know how they can tell which camera is being used for other than hunting recreation and one used for taking of game.

Rights do mean we get to do whatever we please, whenever we want, wherever we want, UNTIL we give the government power over these activities. The building of houses in a national forest and cutting all the trees down are not allowed because we let government dictate that to us through laws. We have limited our own rights and freedoms for a perceived public good. I hope we don't loose the right to put up a trail camera in the national forest because a few bozos on a commission call it a public threat or some such hooey.

"First off there is no "right" to put a camera in the national forest. It is allowed but not a right." I always thought the constitution gave us the right to do anything we wanted until we decide to give the government the ability to restrict an activity. If it is "allowed", then it is our right. It doesn't have to be enumerated in the constitution to be our right. IMHO.

Got it Christmas eve from my 88 year old dad. One night of chills and fever that was pretty intense, but felt better a day later. No lasting effects and my dad got pneumonia at the end of his case, but is all better now. -
+1 about the genetics. Anybody on CWT would crawl thru broken glass to find one of these, let alone both. Make sure you have a lion tag with you when you go back too.

Great footage and you have an awesome location. Two thumbs up!

Congrats, there's nothing like finding browns.

I painted the exterior of a couple Smittys in the 80's. We painted the red curb in front of the restaurant and strung yellow caution tape about knee high around it and people would step over the banner and right onto the wet paint as we were painting just a few feet away. I think they were drawn by the smell of bacon and left their brains at home.

Another bump for Goodwill. I just picked up a Taylormade r5 dual driver for $2.50. not a scratch on it.

My brother and I drew that tag 2 out of 3 years (2014 and 2016) but this year "I got a rock"--Charlie Brown.

True Grit was my favorite ("Fill your hands you son of a bitch") followed by The Magnificent Seven (the one from the 60's with Yul, not the remake with Denzel).
