Ok I need a GSP! -
Thanks for the offer. We filled one tag out of two. My truck broke down and I had to spend two days getting parts from town and replacing a transmission oil to water inter cooler.

Yep all hunting trips have some unforeseen drama. I was camped at the cemetery in 35a for the December hunt. We left Monday afternoon, but when I got to Sonoita I noticed the camper wheel came off. The left rear bearing ceased up and off it came! Lost on highway 83 between mile marker 17 and Sonoita. Wheel is five star Al Thanks Guys!

I hunt in 35a and been going down South since 2007. I've always seen cat tracks around Parker Canyon Lake and have talked to the others hunting. I have seen one dead coues remains in a tree. The lion population has had an impact on the deer numbers. Last week I ran into a local and we started talking about the deer population and was informed that there are 22 resident mountain lions. Yep I'm all about conservation, but if I see a Mountain Lion, I will try to fill my tag.

I've been reloading for a while, but when I got into the belted magnums - I too had issues. This is a good thread, I've learned alot from your questions/answers. Also looks like I need to purchase some more tools to measure shoulder growth. I've checked my stock and re-barreled rifles with go/no go belted magnum gauges - all pass. Then there is this question of setting the head space off the shoulder on belted magnums - I do not understand that argument. BTW All my rifles are Savage. stock barrels and criterion -
Anyone know if there will be a temporary by-pass by next weeks JR hunt? Plan B is to drive Chandler - Payson -Williams-Tuba City Jacob Lake.

Who is taking the kids out to chase pigs this weekend?
PJM replied to rossislider's topic in Youth Hunters
Went out this weekend in 22. Did not see any Javalina. The drought has been impacted their patterns. My oldest just glassed up a coyote and took him out. -
Thanks for the entertainment! I've never been so lucky to see that massive bulls in the wild. I guess I'm in the pines too much and have to go were the junipers meet the pines. I have a 4a tag this year and will try the juniper transition areas.

We camp on NF212 west off the 67. The spot is right were the burn area is viable off the 67. A lot of youth hunter camps are along the NF212. Good Luck

Time for a new tuck Diesel or Gas
PJM replied to AZBUCKEYE's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
2006 Dodge 2500 5.9L 191 K miles: Replaced the transmission pressure solenoid and transducer twice I'm on my 3rd AC unite 1 water pump Rear windows and locks stopped working because the dodge wire harness is too short and broke - simple solder job fixed. Corrected the death wobble by replacing the track bar bushings with polyurethane Catalytic converter clogged -up and the back pressure took out header gasket. Now I'm running a hollow cat with at tad mere power and coal Shake and rattle in the front end corrected with steering stabilizer Rear break light always going out - replaced the light circuit. Breaks pads and rotors every 2 years. Yes the diesel is worth it. I get ~18 miles per gallon in the city , towing around 16 miles/gal, highway 22 miles/gal. Just cannot stomach the 60K price tag on the new trucks. -
Kevin at stockade stocks has anything you need for a savage. http://www.stockadegunstocks.com/
