This is a Thompson Center Venture Weathershield chambered in 6.5 CM. This is a notable upgrade from the current Compass model. The gun has the Weathershield coating and 5R Rifling, among other upgrades. It is a very consistently accurate gun, it will shoot is sub 1 MOA 5 shot group @ 100 yards all day long. (It especially likes Hornaday 140g Factory ELDM loads.) I've killed two deer with this gun, was at 250 yards and the other at 425. The gun is in excellent shape 9/10. Here is an article on the gun. Yes, it is. It took me a few years to find a good one for a decent price. It is an OEM magazine, not a generic knockoff like a lot of them out there are.

Interesting. I also own a 25-06 BDL 700 and I would say that the factory trigger on it is much nicer than the factory one that came on this 788. I found the factory 788 trigger to be a little heavy for my liking. So I traded it out for a Timney a few years ago and never looked back. If the factory stock is not sexy enough for someone, there are a ton of aftermarket stocks out there that one could purchase to make it as sexy as they wanted.

We got drawn for 31 December hunt and none in my group had any points. Same thing a few years ago as well. We always put this hunt as our first choice.

I was up on Pinal Mt. camping with some Boy Scouts yesterday and today and I could not beleive what I was seeing. If you are going to archery hunt (or do any type of hunting for that matter) your odd's might increase just slightly if you do following: 1. Get out of camp long before 8 AM! 2. Don't setup 10' off the main road 3. (This one amazed me) Don't road hunt......Really??? With a bow? We saw 3 separate vehicles each full of road hunters all decked out in camo stopped on the edge of the main road glassing. Good thing you were wearing that camo! I guess the good news is that there will be plenty of deer left for the rifle hunters in a few weeks. Unbelievable.

He acts like he is totally annoyed when you ask him question about something and he plays stupid and says he know nothing about the product; which I find very difficult to believe. His customer service skills are non existent.
