7mm rem mag stock ammo?
DUG replied to arizonaelitefreak's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I know in the .270 Win./WSM I've been happy with the Federal Premium ammo. I like the Nosler Partition and Ballistic Tips. My guns have also shot the Barnes Triple shocks pretty well too. But it depends what your gun likes. It may like the Rem. Core Loks or maybe Winchester stuff. You probably need to buy about 4 or 5 boxes of different stuff and see what it does. -
I got tired of my spare tire baking in the sun.Tirecovercentral.com custom makes a tire cover to your spare tire size. Lots of animals and designs to choose from.

looking for a brittnay pup
DUG replied to hunter1026's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Molly is gorgeous! When we were looking for our 2 Liver and White Britts, we were getting ready to go out of State. We lucked out and found a litter in the paper here and we got 1st pick. I love her solid head. I hope you enjoy her. She is beautiful. -

My wife drew a 6A late bull tag. We are thinking of staying at Mormon Lake Lodge. Has anybody stayed there during the hunt? Does it fill up for the hunt? It looks like a neat place to stay.

Congrats on your tag. I don't know 4B but, there's always elk living in the junipers where I hunt. I would look everywhere you can. I don't like to camp in the colder weather as I don't have a camper or tent trailer. I would go up there during the rut just to get an idea where the bulls are. The main thing during the hunt is to keep a positive attitude and know that anything can happen. Ask the WM if he knows any migration routes in your area. Good luck with the scouting and your hunt. Only 7 more months!

There should be some good stories on this one.........

I'm just curious why both seasons don't close at the same time to potentially avoid this happening? I'm not familiar with this area but it sounds like you could walk back and forth between the 2 areas. Is there a difference between "take" during a closed season and hunting in a closed unit? Is one worse than the other or are they the same?

I got a 7W late cow tag. Wife drew her 3rd rifle bull tag in a row. (WTH?) she got 6A again this year.

We took our girls to the Expo Sunday. I wanted to shoot some Smith and Wesson pistols and shoot the new Beretta A400 they had at the big Beretta trailer. The Beretta Rep. looked at me funny when I told him I paid for a box of shells to try out the new gun. This gun is the lightest recoiling 12 ga. I ever shot. I was smashing the incomers and hit about half my tower birds. I'm not sure but the tower birds were about 90 ft. up and looking into the sun. Anybody else try this gun? What did you think? I want one!!! Oh and I did say hey to Amanda at her booth.

My 1st time applying for antelope was 1985 and I drew for 19B. I remember meeting Mert back then. He was trying to build a gate to open so you didn't have to get out of the truck. I shot a dink on the 3rd day. My friend shot a respectable 14 1/2 incher the 1st day. I remember seeing the buffalo pen too. 19B was our 2nd choice this year. Hopefully the wife gets her 1st choice.

Nice! Shooting jacks with a bow is lots of fun and good practice.
