Any help in finding this scope? Thanks

Just wanted to know what 20 guage synthetic pump to buy for my 5' 5" girlfriend? Also, what barrel length would be ideal? I'm thinking a 24 or 26 inch. The recoil of my 12g Mossberg with a 28" barrel is way too much for her (even with 7.5 dove & quail shot). Looking to use for AZ quail hunting and possibly home defense. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. Kel

Any help for my son's unit 36A, Nov 25th tag?

Hello everyone: Well, after my 13year old son and I put in for our perspective coues hunts and took & passed the hunter safety class, my son and I were disappointed in that we got skunked on the draw. However, I told my son that I'd try for a 1st come mail-in leftover tag. He drew his 3rd choice which was hunt #1135--which I believe is unit 36A (Nov. 25th). Our dilema is this, I know units 22, 23, and 24a but not 36A. In Duwane's book, he recommends Las Guijas and the Cerro Colorado mtns. Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Any info to point me and my 13 yr old in the right direction will be definitely appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kel

Well, on Nov. 27th I got back from a very successful Bull-elk hunt in which I was able to get my 6x6 bull at just over 500 yrds. I had a very proud Dad moment though--when I got home, my youngest son Chris, when seeing my bull, asks: "So, Dad, what would be my chances of hunting big game next year (2011)?" I told him--pretty good son. So, my questions to you guys are these: 1.) Does he need to take the hunter safety class? (He'll be 13yrs old in April)? 2.) Are there any youth hunts in any coues units that are in December? I have looked at the regs for the past 2 yrs and I only see October and November hunts. 3.) Or, as a Dad, would you put him in a regular general rifle hunt with the big boys? 4.)I am looking at units 31, 32, 33 for next year but any one of these units would be completely new--should I stay with units 22 or 24a? or get to know (scout) a little further south--in 31, 32 or 33? Any information you can give me so that I can help out my boy I'd appreciate it and thank you in advance. Kel

Hey guys, Good luck for all of you hunting unit 24a right now. I got to revisit some of my hunt areas in 24a that I hdn't seen since last December's hunt. Got to take my 11 year old son out and found out he hates my 4-wheelin'! Oh well, you can't win them all. Maybe if daddy brings home a buck on the 30th he'll forgive me. Didn't run into much scoutin' except for a friend who hunted last December and saw a truck with the window sticker of CouesWhitetail.com. My friend, who's got great glass (Carl Zeiss) and Leica, told me that he's only seen deer very early or very late in the day. What are your experiences with this? Well, gotta go. Keep up the huntin; pressure and good luck to a great friend. Keldon

Hey, just wondering-has CrazyaboutCoues or anyone else had any luck on scouting 24A? I will be going out early this Saturday morning to scout. Not asking to give up any of your honeyholes, but can you give a novice some advice? You can reply back here or send email to dkeldon@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance. Keldon

AZEliteFreak: Sounds good will do. I think Iwill also hit the range a little more this year and also get away from the bench as my shooting skills were just a wee bit rusty last year. Thanks for the offer and info. I'll send a pm just before the hunt. Kel

Thanks AZEliteFreak, will do. Because of work I won't get to do any scoutin' til late Sept to mid-Oct. But will do. Kel

Last year I was successful on my late wt hunt in 24a--medium 3 pointer. But this year I was drawn for the early, Oct. 30th hunt. Will the deer I saw last December be in the same general area (4k - 5500ft) come Oct. 30th? Or will they be higher up? Any help? Thanks in advance. Kel
