The first one I saw was at Big Bug below Mt. Union. I was scouting on atv and it was on the road just moving along. Cool to watch.

I believe the bill passed in the House because of the Dem majority- best bet to stop it is contact our senators when it arrives in the Senate- All hunters and shooters NEED to join and support our gun rights groups. The dem/progs are taking our liberties one piece at a time-

Junk science, anti hunting laws, and pushover hunters
azphil replied to bojangles's topic in The Campfire
The incremental law/rule changes in hunting and gun regs are designed to eventually ban or restrict both. This is like the "frog in the pot of increasing heat". You don't realize what's happening until it's too late. -
Cattle can really load up your trail cam card.

I definitely sleep better outdoors- away from city noise.

Getting ready for our 6A archery elk hunt. I remember the sky was spooky quiet without the usual planes flying around during the hunt.

I have an old Remington 788 in .243 that I use only for varminting now, but I've taken several deer with it. For a cheap model it is an accurate, tack driving, low recoil machine. I love that cartridge. Good luck on your search.

I am an NRA life member and as much as I hate to say it- generally speaking 18 year olds today do not have the commonsense or maturity that an 18 year old did 10 years ago- not all but a lot. I know they serve in the military and in some states can buy alcohol. I don't know what the answer is but I think some politicians feel they have to give in a little to keep from being damaged politically. You can see all the brainwashed kids out screaming and protesting- they are the future voters- maybe we need to raise the voting age to 21

New AZGF rule (proposed, which means it’s a done deal) about game cameras:
azphil replied to bowsniper's topic in The Campfire
I'm surprised no one brought up the discharge of arrows or bolts within the 1/4 mile stipulation. Does it only apply only if actually "hunting" ? You can't target shoot or chase rabbits and yotes in the river bottom with a bow? I remember there used to be archery bales set up at schools and parks. -
you used to be able to sled/tube on the NAU football practice field- CAUTION- if icy in AM- very fast- my daughter fractured her face and eye socket- the fun ended there

Salt River below Saguaro Lake is stocked with trout in winter- should be fairly quiet mid week.

With JF closed I've had to use Miller- definitely use at your own risk. Stay away from there on weekends and holidays. I've helped on the clean ups they had there - literally tons of trash is left out there - citations need to be issued. Check "Tread LIghtly" for clean up projects if interested in helping.

Bullet selection questions
azphil replied to CatfishKev's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
If you reload- i've had good results with Nosler Accubonds - 140gr deer- 160gr elk -
The original question should be- Why are all these roads being closed in the first place? If they want to not maintain the roads and let them degrade- why bother closing them? There may be some logic for closing some roads but when you have to drive a 3 mile detour because they close a 1/2 mile stretch of good road -that is ridiculous - 6ASouth. It is a piss off when you walk 1 mile down a "closed " road only to find vehicles have driven in.
