Unit 9 can suck up water like elephants on a baby pool! Yes the trick tanks become very important this time of year. Very arid country. Where the cattle are the ranchers keep the water holes full. There is also a water pipeline that runs from drinker to drinker for the cattle but also helps the elk . It's runs north and south. Unit 10 not a problem with water . Boquillas keeps the tanks up for all the cattle! Only spotty in some places off the ranch. We have actually dried out the last 4 weeks. It's time for some rain.

1st. You need to up the ante! Lol to a 90" ante-lope. That way when you kill a 85" you'll be tickled to death!, 2nd. You need to be less than 100 yards to get a picture so you can estimate a score! Use a good spotting scope! If you don't have one beg borrow and or steal one! I use a 20-60 × 80mm Swarovski! And baby big eyes! 3rdly. Scout all summer! Create a pecking order of 1 to 5. 1 being your largest on down to 5. 4. Accurate Shooting out to 600 yards is a must! You don't want that monster goat to get away! 5. You all outta keep making babies she is really cute!

There is 3 main ranches to hunt in 19A 2 will charge you an access fee of appox. $750 ea. They both limit the number of hunters. So call as soon as you know what you have! The other is free with only walk in access. The archers typically kill the best bucks before the muzzle loader guys and rifle guys get a chance. But a few slip thru!

Those are amazing photos! Makes me want another Lion . But this time I would use a take down recurve instead of a bulky compound that caused me to do a back flip off my horse on the side of a mountain trail!

I watched the live auction online of the Western Hunting Show! WOW! That tag took off like a rocket and in a few minutes after the dust settle they had landed on $320,000!!!!

That guide also bought the New Mexico enhancement tags for $230,000. That's elk , deer, antelope, oryx and ibex! That's $940,000 he spent of someone else's money!
