Third times a Charm 'First Archery Elk'
RAM replied to lucky2hunt's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Terrific story and great bull, one to be proud of for sure. 2009 for archery hunters was not the best, which makes any bull or cow a true victory. Congrats. -Ryan -
BML, he is not a member, and yes he was able to harvest a great 5x6 this morning. I will pass on your congrats to him. -Ryan

Thanks Tracy, I sure wish you didn't have to go back to work that first week. We all had a great time, another one for the memory bank. Next year is your year for a tag. - Ryan

I do have photos of my brothers bull another big 6x6, but am waiting for him to post them. I just got word that our sgt. just filled his tag on a nice 5x6 this morning. If I can get my hands on his pics I'll post those as well. -Ryan

What a great goat and recap of the hunt. I love that your son and brother got to be there, that always make the hunt in my eyes more enjoyable. -Ryan

I am headed up this weekend and am hoping to hear some talking. I was luckly enough to draw a tag last year and from my personal experience, the elk were talking, you just had to be in the right place when it was happening. I also heard after I taged out, the last couple days of the hunt were the best when it came to talking activity. As for this year, I hope and pray that we have a great hunt filled with all kinds of rutting activity. -Ryan

That was great.

Welcome aboard Sean. Look forward to your future pics and stories. -Ryan

Mullin's Got it done in a big way!
RAM replied to matthewp45's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I am on the edge of my chair here. I remember last years bull was around 420" and I ended up shooting a 300" on my hunt. This means if my calculation are correct, if Mullin's bull is over 420", then I am for sure tagging a 340" this year. Good luck to all who have elk tags this year, I was lucky enought to get a another tag, two years in a row. -Ryan -
Those photos are great. I truely love those oldy pics. Some times I wish I could go back in time and expierence what they did in those days. -Ryan

Haven't met you or your family but my family is praying for you. Its hard to accept that God has a plan and that it was Bret's time, but just know he will do great things for many people where he is now. Heaven is a great place and he just made it that much more. Like someone else already posted, let no day pass without telling your loved one's "I Love You". Enjoy the times as they go by fast. -Ryan

I have a buddy who is looking to make somones day. He has a male, blue tick hound that is approximately 2 months old with GREAT markings. I don't know the details other than that, but feel free to call him if your interested. No charge for the pup, he is free. His name is MIke and his phone number is 623-693-0106 -Ryan

I can't hardly wait for my elk hunt to finally start, so I figured I would get the ball rolling with getting everyones input on what their goals are. My questions are simple, *Are you going to hold out for a bigger bull (Final Score) than the one you killed in the past, or shoot whatever presents it self? *If you are going to hold out for a bigger bull (Final Score), how big and for how long? *If you are not worried about beating your previous bull, what are you looking to accomplish? For me, I am looking to kill a higher scoring bull than 300, which is my personal best. I am going to hold out for that bull, for the first week of the hunt. On the second week is when I'll start judging each bull as they come it, depending on what they look like. -Ryan

I am very sorry for your loss. You will be in my families prayers. -Ryan
