Ben - My ability to travel is limited, but I could certainly help out with projects in 37B. I will e-mail your work address with my contact info.

Unhappy with my new coues mount
muskrat replied to bowsniper's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
couestaxi (I think) is in Africa right now. Maybe he can chime in when he gets back. I'll let him know about this thread. -
A barrier? Where I grew up (and in Maine too) you had to keep your deer in view, and go to the nearest check-in station. That's just the way it was. No one there thought it was a "barrier"... well, except maybe the dishonest people. My wife was in the hospital last night; I will submit written comments.

Just a reminder - I'm looking for photos, testimonials, etc., to keep this issue at the forefront. Thanks!

I'm looking for the URL to the Arizona Hunters Who Care website, so I can add it to a blog post... http://arizonahuntingtoday.com/desertrat/?p=235

I'm trying to bring national attention to bear on this problem, working through other blogs and message boards. If anyone has photos, testimonials, or other info associated with the garbage problem along the border, please contact me, or you can just post comments on my blog http://arizonahuntingtoday.com/desertrat/?p=235 I have also e-mailed Lance. Thanks!

I see pigs there all the time - except for the during the 3 javelina seasons I hunted there LOL. I have been with DB and seen some mulies. I have seen some does. I have found some sheds (one big one), and frequently - BIG tracks...

Can you say OUCH!!

I'm no expert, but I believe that there are enough oil companies that those kinds of rules don't apply.... -

Another (minor) factor here in AZ - the recently passed minimum wage law. The Circle K has to raise prices in order to keep their margins the same... -

Actually the biggest profiteer when it comes to gas is the Federal Government. You want lower prices, have them suspend/alter/adjust the fuel taxes. Yeah, the oil companies make a lot of dollars, but they also spend a lot. Their profit margins are in the single digits... 8 or 9% if I remember correctly. There are lots of businesses that make a far healthier profit than that, off of us. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5365439 http://www.angelfire.com/pa/sergeman/issue...t/gas/main.html -

Game and Fish Meeting Results
muskrat replied to Dick's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Is it typical that states combine Wildlife Management functions with enforcement functions? In Maine and New Brunswick (my only other experiences) - game wardens were game wardens and wildlife managers were wildlife managers. I wonder if the current system in AZ is effective? -
I'm thinking about buying a .410 or 20ga for my daughter, who is currently 9 years old. She definitely needs a youth model. I have a .22 magnum for her that is definitely too big yet...

muskrat replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
My favorite part about hunting is that I never have to pack anything out, or get my hands all bloody...... -
You're a class act, Amanda. I'm proud to consider you a friend.
