Look politics aside, these guys saved a bunch of lives recently. Highly commendable! https://www.sandiegofishreports.com/fish_reports/180007/san-diego-heroes-honored-for-miraculous-lifesaving-rescue-at-sea.php

My very similar Grizzly made the cut as my backup bow for my Kaibab deer hunt. Not just good IMO, great bows! That bow is about as old as me and looks none the worse for wear, in fact much better! Congrats great deal guys!

Get something that you can tolerate carrying a quarter or at least some backstraps or something back to camp. Otherwise pocket layout seems to be what a lot of people prioritize. This is one of those deals IMO that once you get serious might as well buy once, cry once like optics. For me that meant Made in USA from Kifaru. Also hear great things about Stone Glacier and Seek Outside.

Like you guys said, if this is a "tragedy" he is a pretty privileged person!

^This right here.^ This will NEVER end.

If you decide to split stuff I might be interested.

Teaching your kids to steal is worse than the stealing IMO. Hope ya'll catch these morons.

For me the biggest obstacle was the mental challenge of staying motivated. As much time as possible is critical. You could get lucky and have one come in on the first day but odds he is in for a long, boring ordeal. You can only watch the same squirrels, chipmunks, and deer so long before things get old. Have a few good books, games, etc and great snacks to keep you guys going. Maybe schedule a change of personnel to come for a few days to change things up. I had my cousin a few days, my buddy a few days, and a few days myself, 12 days total until I got it done on a 14 day hunt.

My cousin and his soon to be ex wife are/were really into it. I should have been learning this stuff a long time ago but never too late. I can identify boletes, lobsters, chanterelles, and of course morels.

Not one of the best varieties but this Slippery Jack is edible.

Not personally messed with one of those winches but seen it done before.

Well I wanted to post some pics from Alaska but most are jacked up and sideways, going to need to edit them with something on my computer first I guess.

I see it as the same as operating an aircraft. Game and Fish only has so much jurisdiction. Its not like you can't fly an airplane over Arizona during a hunt, but you better not be talking to anybody on the ground. Same crap with this camera nonsense. Might not want to use it for hunting but there is nothing stopping anybody from still using a camera in the forest or wherever if you aren't using it for "take".

Ya the cell cams have been illegal for a while for sure. I just read the thread title and overlooked the cell part. My bad.
-
Still legal here and will be until all of the land management agencies weigh in on photography on their lands. Game and Fish only has jurisdiction on take so there will always be cams on the landscape. If anyone believes they are going to all of a sudden disappear because of the dumb new rule for 2022, I got some Ocean Front Property for you, right here in Yuma!!!

I want to, but I can't commit to anything. My freezer is full. If I don't kill a deer, maybe. I want a Dorado bad!
-
Hit me up too, I reported it right away.

Right on, thanks for sharing. Seems like the fish are on one day and off the next. Weird times until those solid warm water currents come.

Carbon Dioxide and Water are the products of Propane combustion. CO happens when Oxygen levels go down and incomplete combustion occurs. That being said if you leave some ventilation open you will keep the Oxygen level up and chance of CO or CO2 poisoning to nil. I don't worry about it in either my summer tent with vents or my canvas tent. Good Luck on the Kaibab!

Looks like you guys really had an outstanding trip, well done! Looks like a few of those sockeye are starting to change to spawning colors. Ours were all chrome. Did you guys get into any Chinook on the ocean? Great stuff, thanks for sharing. I can't wait to go back someday.

So far so good, can't wait to hear the rest. Good Luck!

Ya it even rained in Yuma yesterday. What a trip. Probably got over an inch in about 20-30 minutes. Drain on my patio couldn't keep up so I was out there in my Xtra Tufs and swim trunks sweeping water the other way like a mofo!

Semi-live threads are hard enough with cell service. Hardly any service up there unless you are at Jacob Lake or down at the Park near the facilities. Nice thought but ain't going to happen.

I have a few pants I like. The Attack pants are the most comfortable I've tried but durability of the fabric and DWR is not up to par for the price. I also have Eddie Bauer Guide Pro Pants that are a bit lighter but way cheaper. I have 3 pairs of the Wrangler pants in different colors that are so cheap they are a no brainer. Almost as comfortable and more durable than the Attacks at like $25 with tax from Walmart. Can't beat that!
